• Namdapha National Park

The Namdapha National Park is situated in the Changlang District at a few km from Miao. This park is spread in a total area of 1985 sq. km due to which it is the largest national park in the north east India. It was also amongst the earliest national parks constructed in this region of India. It lies at 200 m above the sea level in a valley, which is surrounded by over 4500 m of snow-covered mountains.

This National Park was recognized as a National Park under the Wildlife Protection Act in 1983. In the same year it was also declared as a tiger reserve under Project Tiger. Its most popular feature is its wildlife safari that provides a complete tour of the whole park. There are also separate camera points and camping sites present within the premises of this National Park. Places like MotiJheel and Gandhigram are also its special attractions.

It has a rich and diverse variety of flora and fauna. Its vegetation ranges from wet tropical and sub-tropical forests to temperate and alpine forests. It also comprises of various species of wild trees like wild orchids along with vegetation of banana, mango, citrus, medicinal and ornamental plants.

The fauna present in this national park includes elephants, tigers, leopards, snow leopards, golden catand much more. Its wide variety of birds include Indian horn bill, cheer pheasants, white winged wood duck, rufous-necked hornbill and others.
