About 108 Shiva Mandir

The widow of Maharaj Tilakchand, Bishnu Kumari, ordered the building of the 108 Shiva temples after receiving heavenly instructions in her dream in 1789. The temples are located in Nawabhat which was once famous for the battles of the Pathans and Mughals. A week long celebration takes place in the temple premises during the occasion of Shivaratri.

This temple is very famous at Burdwan and all over West Bengal. It have 108 Shiva lingas on 108 separate temples with a row as a squire in area. All the places of temple are very clean and well mentioned by authority, it is located at Nawab hat near about 4 km from Barddhaman Railway Station.
