The widow of Maharaj Tilakchand, Bishnu Kumari, ordered the building of the 108 Shiva temples after receiving heavenly instructions in her dream in 1789. The temples are located in Nawabhat which was once famous for the battles of the Pathans and Mughals. A week long celebration takes place in the temple premises during the occasion of Shivaratri.

108 Shiva temple

This temple is very famous at Burdwan and all over West Bengal. It have 108 shiv lingas on 108 seperate tempels with a row as a squire in area. All the places of temple are very clean and well mentoioned by authority, it is located at nawab hat near about 4km from Barddhaman Railway Station.

Place of 108 Shiv Lingas

Place is very clean and beautiful. There are 108 Shiv Lingas. Every linga has a separate mandir. Very religious place. Place is very very well maintained and is coloured beautifully. Place is just besides of Nababhat bus stand.
