ATDC House Boat, Alappuzha (Alleppey)
Thathampally Post Alleppey
The house boat is very small, the upper side has no space, no view and direct sign. The house boat cooks excelent food and the toilet rooms are very small. In houseboat market everything was very costly and driver forced to purchase any item in this market. During checkout we have given a tip of Rs. 300 for cook, driver and helper.. Overall, very small rooms and night view is not so dangerous.
In case you plan to stay in a houseboat while visiting the backwaters in Kerala, be sure to not book with the ATDC houseboats. Severely compromised service, dirty rooms/toilets, and insufficient power supply are a few things you will experience when staying in their houseboats. Me and my husband took our maiden trip to Kerala and staying a houseboat was one of the highlights we were waiting to experience. Unfortunately, it was at the least exciting when we saw the state of these houseboats for tourists ... Dirty and shabby, limited power supply, and short backwater ride (ending at 17. 00 in the evening) was not what we bargained for !! The only highlight of the houseboat stay was the service of the two staff on board who took care of the food and snacks. My advice to the houseboat company would to be to pay serious attention to the maintenance of cleanliness in their facilities. At the end of the day, people pay for vacations to relax. The least they could do is offer some respectable service!
The hotel was good. The hotel location was fine. All the facility was provided in the room. The hot water facility was provided in the hotel. The reception staff was helpful. The food quality was awesome. There was no activity in this hotel. I had visited this hotel for family trip.
We hired 1 bed room in a three bed room Houseboat. Food is included. Menu was Also very good. Service was homely. Behavior of staff very cordial. We reached the jetty at 12:30. But it had to wait till the other groups arrived at 2:30 PM. It travelled in backwaters till 5:30 PM and jet tied for the night at a village where they connected with power supply and started the AC s. Lunch on the day, Dinner and next morning breakfast was served in 1st floor dinning area. It has a sitting area with sofas at lower level and a balcony with reclining chairs on the 1st floor. The boat started return trip at 8AM and reached ATDC jetty at 9 AM. It passed through the backwaters alleys offering amazing views. Worth taking this trip.
The hotel was good. I would recommend this hotel to upcoming travellers. The behaviour of the receptionist was very nice in the hotel. The overall experience of the hotel was nice. The check in and checkout was on time in the hotel. The room was spacious. The food was not good in the hotel. There was no activity arranged by the hotel.
