Aangnechi Wadi, also known as Anganewadi, is located 10 km away from the township of Malvan. This village is famous for the Bharadi Devi Temple, where an annual fair is organised in the month of February. The main deity of the temple is known for her Navas or wish-fulfilling power. Every year in February, the date of the annual fair is finalised as there is no fixed day or date for the fair.
This place derives its name from the local community called Angane. Anganewadi separated from the village of Masure because of the dispute between Devasthan committees of the two places. These two places are still associated with each other only because of their immense faith in the Goddess.
According to a legend associated with the Bharadi Temple, a cow of one of the villagers used to discharge milk on a green wood, which turned into a plaque. This plaque was discovered by the owner, while he was looking for his cow. On that particular day, the owner had a dream, in which he was told to worship the plaque. As the plaque was found on Bharad or rocky soil, the deity was named as Bharadi.
This temple was reconstructed few years ago in the Nagara style of architecture. It is enclosed in a huge courtyard and a small plaque is located in the external sanctum. The inner area of the sanctum is square shaped and has a tower, amalaka and golden kalasha.
