Abbydhama Estate Homestay, Madikeri
Hebbettageri Village K Nidugane PO Madikeri
Travellers, Finalised on this place after much searching and checking reviews.Starting from booking the place through a call to Mr.Chidvilas till we checked out , it was a text book perfect stay .Cent percent satisfaction. It is a peaceful dhamma, good place to unwind. This place is situated on the way to Abbi falls ,hence abbhydhama:).. The place is all what is expected, no doubt it was awarded the Excellence award by Trip Advisor. The place is set amidst coffee estate offers both traditional stay (Halemane- like individual cottages amidst estate) and Modern stay(Hosamane-stay within the main building) . Both rooms have all modern required facilities for comfort stay. For people loving independently , I recommend take Halemane as it is set amidst coffee estate and all is u r's. For people who wanna stay within , I recommend Hosammane. We were welcomed warmly by the chirping sound in nature & Mrs. Chidvilas and we were amazed by the landscape the entire stay is setup. It's carefully and aesthetically designed. We were bowled out by the hospitality shown by Mr & Mrs. Chidvilas, Mr. Vijayraghavan who constantly took care of our needs. They took a few extra steps to make the stay comfortable. I must mention that they are doing this with a PASSION...and anything with PASSION is always done whole heartedly... Now the other positive side: **Some things can't be rated, this is a passion which they do and they don't consider this as a work which will make u feel comfortable in the stay:) **Dinner, Breakfast is too homely, u feel it's healthy and good. We were amazed to find it was a purely vegetarian home stay and later they agreed for serving non-veg also for catering to the travellers need. Kudos to you for catering to the needs of the travellers!!!!! PS: If you require Non-veg , it has to be informed earlier. **Vijayraghavan took us & showed us the kitchen and how food was prepared. It was beyond our expectation , we were bowled out by it.... **Mr. Shiva, the house boy was too helpful. He was ready to help with a smile always. **Take u r time and stroll down the estate , you will enjoy the nature and chirping sound of cricket's and the birds. You will fall in love with the place:) **Enjoy the tranquility of the nature, visit the swimming pool and watch nature which unfolds into vast areas into horizon. **Take guidance before entering swimming pool. **You will feel hospitality at every step, they make sure u r stay is comfortable:) **There is no room service , only self service , hence you need to go to breakfast area or dining area, they are always ready to serve you with smile:) ** All rooms are provided with mosquito coils but still you may encounter few inside halemane as the cottage is set amidst the estate... **Another interesting fact:They provide Drivers with a separate rest area:) My words: YOu will certainly enjoy the stay and be bowled out by the hospitality shown by Mr & Mrs Chidvilas,Mr.Vijayraghavan. I wish their tribe increase and they continue their service with their Charming smile & Passion. *********MUST VISIT ,MUST STAY IF YOU ARE IN COORG******************************* Room Tip: If you like being within nature halemanne amidst nature will suit or go in for hossamane.
To start with about Abbydhama, I was not a big fan of homestay but wanted to stay at place close to coffee estate in Coorg and hence chose to stay at this place. This place won't disappoint you on any front. Right from getting personal call from owner Mr Chid villas to check on our availability for Lunch in morning while we were on way to guiding us to place. ( touched by gesture ) this place is really breath taking with coffee estate in backyard, tree house, next to Abbey falls and town and more over humble support staff. They serve food on order ( as its homestay they confirm if we will join, we ordered Non veg food and trust me best Coorgi experience ( Chicken dish ) we had. Pool was clean, room tidy and ambience awesome. Only reason, I did not give this place a 7 out of 7 as I feel owners don't want this to be a star hotel. ( They want it to be a homestay ) I feel this can be added to Star class by adding few more benefits like on house menu, bar & Music.
We have gone to Madikeri - to enjoy the first time first cut home stay experience at Coorg last week (October first week 2015) The real meaning of Excellence in the following things: 1. Room - Excellent, spacious, comfortable 2. Ambiance - Excellent, natural, very attractive, emotionally bonded 3. Surroundings - Can feel the power of nature 4. Upkeep - Very good, neat and clean 5. Food - Awesome, dedicated staff, very hygienic kitchen (first time even visitors are allowed inside a kitchen) 6. Swimming pool - Very neat and clean 7. Owners - Very amicable, pleasant, nice, very much genuine, humble 8. Staff - Very co-operative, helpful Hope next time will spend three to four days just chill and relax in the coffee estate.
Coorg is very nice place for nature lovers. Let' talk above review of Abbydhama Estate Stay resorts. Resort location is superb. Rooms are very clean and clear. Everything was there. Issues are service and staff. There is no one permanent on front desk. We have to search person for any small small work. For that we have to go outside room and take round in all places of hotel then only you can find any person. They have only limited food. Swimming pool was very nice. Overall, I can say if you are ready for compromise services and all, then it is good.
I went with family in the month of January and the stay was really relaxed. The hotel is located conveniently located and the staff were very friendly in behaviour and quick in services. The appearance was good. The room allotted to me was not maintained clean with all the amenities in proper working condition. There was a valley view and it was good. The food was good both in quality and taste with lots of varieties in vegetarian. There was a swimming pool and it was good. There was no postponement during sign in and sign out process. The hotel is worth for the money. I recommend this hotel to other travellers.
