A short but memorable stay

Posted 26 Aug, 2014

I had a pretty brief stay at Acres Wild and I should admit that the experience was pretty fulfilling. The rooms were pretty decent and the most that I liked was the privacy. I was pretty eager to make a tour to the Dairy Field but unfortunately wasn't lucky enough to accomplish that due to the time factor.

Neat & clean rooms; good service

Posted 21 Aug, 2014

It was a farmhouse. It was very excellent property. I traveled this place by my own vehicle with my family in April month. Parking facility was provided by the hotel. Hotel was located at convenient place. I reached easily there. Appearance wise this farmhouse was superb. I did not face any difficulty in the hotel. Check in and check out procedure was easy. Services were satisfactory. Room was neat, clean and proper maintained. It was not very big property. All basic amenities were present in the room like AC, TV, table, bed, etc. Indoor games were arranged by the farmhouse. Complimentary breakfast was given by the hotel it was fantastic. Food was present there but varieties were limited. Coonoor as a tourist place is lovely and relaxed place for travelers. This property is recommendable for family.

Very beautiful place with great view

Posted 5 Aug, 2013

Very beautiful place. Great view. Good hosts. Lot of space to walk, climb and relax. It's quite close to Coonoor town yet very secluded. Food is good but variety is limited so serious foodies may feel let down. Apt for people who want a different experience.

Owners and their staff are a motley

Posted 1 Aug, 2013

Visiting and staying at Acres Wild was a \"dream come true\" experience for me! I was taken by surprise by the warm bonhomie, good companions, marvellous food and the sylvan/idyillic surroundings. I took a dive in the quaint little pond on the property and had a wonderful swim, quite unexpectedly! The owners and their staff are a motley, yet a lovely bunch of like-minded people who take care of their guests like their own family. Though desolate, but incorrigibly natural and ethereal in its beauty, the different cottages, straight out of fairy tales, and named after different kinds of cheese are excellent! Rustic and wild, yet with all the modern day facilities, this property\'s a loner\'s paradise. Of course, it\'s also a place where one might get lucky and make new yet very genuine friends, even. Acres Wild with its distinctly flavoured different kinds of cheese, served fresh every morning at breakfast, along with the ambience makes life worth living, in the truest sense of the term! I will definitely go back to Acres Wild to taste the rugged and rustic wilderness experience along with an innate urbaneness we cannot do without!

Going to Acres Wild was a dream come true for a farm house stay along with the comforts of a regular five star hotel. It's a perfect place for those who want to stay in the wild forest of Niligirs and enjoy all the comforts at the same time. There was a lovely pond where one could go fishing along with ducks that could be fed.Additionally there was a bonfire that was lit in the night We had a adventure time since there was a elephant that entered the farm.

The concept of a farmstay was very new to us, but after reading the wonderful reviews online, we decided to give it a try. And yes, it was a wonderfully different experience. We fell in love with this place the moment we saw it..Its beautiful, beautifully located amidst greenery. Its nothing but nature all around, you can hear the birds chirping, the squirrels running around...all this makes for a wonderful experience..Mansoor and Tina were very hospitable and we had very interesting conversations with Mansoor into the night. Deepak and Vinod help with the cottages and they are just a ring away if you need any assistance. We were a group of 4 and had taken the Cheddar cottage. The cottage had 2 rooms, a dining area, kitchen and a sit out. The rooms are beautifully done with wooden floooring and a fire area. The sit out gives a very nice view of the valleys. The kitchen was furnished with a gas, fridge, toaster, microwave, sandwich maker etc. If you just tell Deepak or Vinod, they set up a fire for you in front of the cottage at night which is a wonderful experience. The farm has ducks, goats, cows. You can try your hand at milking the cows. Vinod helped us in understanding the cheese making procedure. Breakfast was amazing with the home made marmalade and cheese from the farm. They provide Lunch/Dinner if required, but the food is basic and not worth the price. Coonoor has good eating places so we preferred eating out in the afternoons and packing food for the nights. All in all, it would definitely rate as one of our best holiday experiences so far.
