Resort at its best... one can see and feel.. why people call Kerala a Gods own country... In a day... you may see all kind of weather... Sunny / Rainy / misty... you even feel so cold...even though sun is at his best... Great place to spend your quality time... Best route to reach Agaraharam Resort is via Nagarhole Forest... it takes almost 1:30mins... at a speed of 40kms / hr... you will come across with friendly deer\'s giving you perfect position for the best photography... FOX / Peacock / Elephants (one trained near camps and one in forest too...) to my surprise... i have even seen Elephants outside forest area... on way to Resort... It had broken one of the Bamboo tree... and tree was lying on road... at 4:30am... you dont except anyone to come and help you... I tried to get down from my car... to move the tree out of the way... and you wont beleive... i heard a sound of Elephant... closeby... still pulling down some bamboo tree... i ran and sat inside car... so that atleast i can pull car and go back... suddenly we saw a Jeep on the other end... so we both helped each other to cross road... amazing experience... and this dint end... when we entered Forest at 6am as soon as they open the gate... and travelled few distance... we saw an Elephant... we were able to see only face inside the bushes... we stopped for photo sessions... may be due to the flash and color of the car (Red)... it got wild... and ran towards our car with making those angry sound... we could manage to pull out of the spot immdly... but, we can still... see that it was looking at our car... wat would have happen if the car would have not started on time... let me stop of imagine wat would have happened... terrific...

We, 9 families from Chennai (totally 30 members), of 1981 passed out batch from ACCET, Karaikudi, Tamilnadu, choose this destination for this year. We booked this Thirunelli Agraharam resorts completely over phone (It was only through a word of mouth, we learnt that this is a good cottage to stay). We arrived at this cottage around 2.30 pm on 11th June 2009 in a bus from Calicut Rly. Station. The ghat road all along the route gave us a very good inspiration and kindled our expectations more. You will not believe unless you see to yourself the scenic beauty of the area in and around the cottage. This is the place for all those who love to live in the unadulterated nature. The resorts construction has not spoiled the magnificence of the forest. Though you got to travel to every nearby tourist places, except the Thirunelli Temple, all those sight seeing arrangements are taken care of by the Thirunelli Agraharam resorts. The best part everyone enjoyed during the stay was the unusual elephant visits during the after-office hours. We had experienced twice charged by the elephants, once by a single elephant and next a mother elephant with its calf. That was a trilling experience and will linger for our rest of the life. The Thirunelli Temple is a must-be-visited place, for its age and power of the deity.

Great experience

Excellent stay amidst the dense forest, hills and a natural river flowing nearby. Very close to the famous ancient Thirunelly temple. Good view directly from the rooms and few indoor and outdoor activities inside the resort to keep yourself occupied. The best part is the location itself where you can find deers and elephants alomost everytime you venture in the surroundings. This is quite a thrilling but harmless experience. Take care not to harm them- slow down or even stop if they are in the middle of the road. Also, in case you are coming from Bangalore, try the route through Mysore --> Hunsur through Rajiv Gandhi national park. The 35 kms slow drive through this jungle is a good experience and you are almost sure to see the animals and forest birds around. I drove along with my wife and daughter through this and whole waynad and we felt so happy as parents to see our daughter so excited everytime she saw beautiful dears and colorful birds right next to the car windows :-)... Tholpetty Jungle safari was once scary for her though- as a big tusker came quite close to our jeep.

It gives us great pleasure even now, to think of the fantastic time we had at the Agraharam cottages during the Dec holidays. The location of the place was breathtakingly beautiful and serene. The cottages were very comfortable and clean and the food absolutely delicious. Typical, wholesome, wonderful Kerala food.It was like a home away from home. In one word it was GREAT The hospitality and kind service extended by Mr. Sebastian and other staff was exemplary.Mr. Sebastian\'s local knowledge helped us plan our outings for the day. We also had a fantastic time walking and enjoying the Kalindi river. Although second to none in comfort what sets the resort apart is the sheer simplicity and unpretentious service provided to guests making one feel at ease. It helps us relax and unwind thoroughly to enjoy the calm beauty of the place. We could help choose the menus and enjoyed the typical appam for breakfast and Kerala fish curry with kodum pulli for lunch !! The wild life is spectacular too. Thankfully one can smell the elephants before seeing them. All in all a great place with great people.Thirunelli temple was a wonderful spiritual experience as well. Would like to go again.....

6.1/7

We had been to Wayanad during the Ramadan holidays, ie 10th-12th September 2010. Of all the resorts we enquired, Agraharam was the only one which could offer us rooms for that weekend. We were a bit skeptical of the location, as it is away from the main tourist spots in Wayanad. But we reserved it, as we wanted to try something different from the ordinary. And I have to say that it was worth taking the decision to stay there, as the surprise that awaited us there was beyond words! The cottages are set in the backdrops of beautiful mountains, and surrounded by nothing else other than greenery (Dark green woods!)The only sound is that of the crickets and the birds. The bountiful nature takes away all your travel fatigue and refreshes you as soon as you set your foot there! The cottages have a very rustic style and the rooms were extremely clean and cosy. (Keep a watch on the name of the cottages, the selection is one of a kind!)The hospitality and service had been excellent. The food is cooked as per your order, and you get what you want. We had stuck on to the native Kerala cuisine and it was nice and tasty. The price though had been a little on the higher end. We had also been to other resorts in Wayanad earlier and I need to say that Agraharam is quite unique. Especially its location, the hospitality...everything stands apart and have a class of its own. Also because of its proximity to the Tirunelli Temple, it is also an ideal place for anyone who wants to visit this holy place. To sum it up, if you want to relax, be with the nature and be in a secure comfortable place, Agraharam is the one to be in!!!
