This is nice hotel. The nice room with nice bad. Swimming pool was cool. This hotel has very romantic rooms. Hotel farnichar is good, sofa bed is very soft and very cool.
Ahilya Fort is one of the most romantic hotels one has visited. Its location is amazing, on the banks of the Narmada. The ghats and its temples resounding with chants, the sun rise and sun setting on the mighty river is mesmerising. The hotel itself has a very lived in, warm feel with the staff being mostly locals. The head of the staff is a local lady who has been with the family for years. The food is fresh and much is sourced from their own kitchen gardens in the fort. The management has worked hard to retain the character of the place with its little in-house temples, and the fire-lamps which light up the place in the night. The perfect place for lovers of heritage looking for peace and serenity.
The overall experience at this hotel was good. I had stayed at this hotel with family for relaxation purpose. The service was quite good. The service people were helpful, friendly and hygienic. The interiors and exteriors of the hotel were not so good. The paintings, furniture, indoor and outdoor decorations were also okay. The hotel was conveniently located. I travelled there by my own vehicle. The room was good, spacious, neat, clean and well maintained. The bed sheets, blankets and pillows were in clean condition. All amenities were functioning properly. I had not seen any view out of my room. I had not tried the food at the hotel. I had not faced any problem at the hotel stay. I was happy with the stay. A swimming pool was provided at the hotel. They had not provided any sightseeing trip. I will recommend this hotel to others. The hotel was value for money. I don't want to give any suggestion for this hotel.
My husband and I have visited this place 3-4 times over the last 4 years of our marriage. This itself says a lot about how much we are in love with this place. I have not been able to find a place like Ahilya fort where I think I would love to visit again and again. The serenity, peace and tranquility of the narmada, the divine experience of seeing small oil lamps floating in the narmada every evening, the ringing of the temple bells from a far early morning, sounds of conch shells blowing, having your delicious breakfast served so beautifully while you look at the beautiful ghats, everything there transports you to a different time and age. Staying otherwise in a buzzing metro city, Maheshwar and Ahilya fort bring you the much required peace. The fort itself is very beautifully maintained. It has a very homely atmosphere. The food too is very delicious. The now rare handloom woven Maheshwari sarees is another piece of beauty you would find here. The good deeds of Masaheb Ahilyadevi are reflected in the vibrations of the entire place. My husband and I have stayed here during one diwali and it was sooo beautiful.. Even the small town of Maheshwar had an amazing charm. The old houses along the narrow streets of the small town were lit with oil lamps all over, a thing which has become a rare sight in Mumbai nowadays. P.s. This is not the place if you are looking for modern day activities such as sports, games, t.v. and discs, etc. which are available in the usual 5-star hotels these days. Such things would polute the basic nature of the place.
