Alandi has become a popular pilgrimage centre, owing to the presence of the samadhi of Sant Dnyaneshwar, a popular saint of Maharashtra. Born in Apegaon near Paithan, Sant Dnyaneshwar inspired the entire state to worship Lord Panduranga. Built in 1570, the samadhi temple also contains the famous wall, on which Saint Dnyaneshwar sat and flew to meet Changdev.
Muktai Temple, Ram Temple, Krishna Temple, Math of Swami Hariharendra and Vitthal-Rakhumai Temple also allure numerous devotees to this town. Situated on the banks of Indrayani River, the town also contains a Ghat behind the samadhi temple.
