Alibag, a 300 year old seaside town, is located at a distance of 10 km from Kihim. The Undheri Fort is one of the prime attractions of Alibag, which was built by Siddi Qasam in 1680. This island fort was successively ruled by Peshwas, Siddis and British.
The Kanakeshwar Devasthan temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is another important tourist spot in Alibag. The idol of Lord Shiva enshrined in the temple is about 54 ft high. Located at a height of 900 ft, this temple can be reached after climbing 5,000 stairs. Sagargad is a deserted hill fort that was built by Shivaji. Thal Beach, Mandwa Beach, Alibag Beach and Nagaon Beach are the other attractions in Alibag.
Mandve, Kamarle, Kurul, Samarath Nagar, Gondhalpada, Vidya Nagar and Ranjankhar are some of the villages situated near Alibag. The tomb of Kalnhoji Angre is another popular attraction of this site. Alibag is also known for the Khanderi Fort that was constructed in the year 1678 and was under the rule of the British for a long time.
