Hotel Review of Milan Palace Hotel
Comments: We arrived at this hotel on the morning of the Christmas eve, the front office was friendly and so was the rest of the staff. My bags were carried to my room, the room was quite cozy with a large window, the room was also equipped with latest amenities like coffee maker, hair dryer in the bathroom, plasma TV. The bed was cozy and interiors soothing. I had an amazing stay at Milan Palace. What I would not recommend would be their in- house restaurant as it is insanely expensive and the food is not worth it, although the bar is good. There are other good dining options available just a few minutes away from the hotel. The hotel is situated in a posh area of Allahabad and have numerous dinning options near by. The traveler will be spoilt by choices. So one can dine outside and enjoy the late night drinks at the bar at the hotel.
Best Experience: The best experience was the room definitely and the service. The staff was very courteous. There was this one incident that brings back the fond memories, we were at Milan Palace on the Christmas eve, and I was traveling with some foreigners and they wanted to celebrate Christmas eve by having some wine. Now Allahabad being a temple town mainly, is very strict when it comes to liqueur and it was quite late by the time we realized we wanted to have some wine, and we could find it no where. Even the most upmarket restaurant in Allahabad refused to serve wine to us as its not in the moral code. Anyways it was only at the bar of the Milan Palace that we were served wine and it had a decent crowd sitting and enjoying their drink as well.
Worst Experience: None, except for the fact that I was warned about the in- house restaurant of the hotel. I didn't try it myself, and I'm sure I didn't miss out on anything as the places we dined at were divine.
