Allahabad food, sight-seeing and shopping options
There are lot of dining options in Allahabad. It depends on what one wants to have. Most of the upmarket restaurants are in the Civil Lines area serving wide range of cuisine from north indian to south indian to pizza and pasta. However if one wants to savor some local flavors head to the Chowk area. The lane called 'Loknath' is highly recommended for its local chaat, and samosas. People with big sweet tooth like mine have a treat in store. Big glasses of badam milk and lassis are served. You can also order the Thaali.

Hotel Review of Samrat Hotel
Comments: The overall experience is good. The hotel is located near bus stand and railway station. The Civil Lines area is also good as it has ample hotel for food-joints, restaurants, shopping and commuting to nearby famous destination. Hotel Samrat is bit priced more than offerings. Its surely a good hotel but not the luxury one. Allahabad is a main city Triveni Sangam at Prayag. Need to be careful in general as local people may cheat easily for money.
Best Experience: Service staff was polite and always helpful to solve problems and queries. Hot water was a problem, but service attendants handled this problem so nicely, that we never had pinch for it.
Worst Experience: Nothing as such. Its a good hotel.
