We were a large group of 10 people looking for a beach resort for a day and booked Alleppey Beach Resort based on site reviews and travel agent recommendation. We had booked 5 rooms of which 3 on the ground floor were quite large and nice but the 2 rooms on the first floor were really basic and very small in width as well and they were all the same price. We were greeted on our way to the first floor rooms by wet clothes hanging on chairs outside in the passage While the location of the resort is lovely as the beach is just outside the resort compound wall and has steps connecting it, the service and the staff need a major overhaul. Room service requests for tea/coffee at 630 am in the morning were refused saying it was too early and we did not get our full breakfast even at 730. The staff are rude, untrained, cannot communicate well only in Malayalam and very slow. There are no electric kettles in the rooms (they would have at least compensated for the lack of service at 630 am if they were available) and the towels, etc seemed quite threadbare. This kind of amenities did not seem commensurate with the room charges which were pretty high We left feeling pretty cheated as we were on a religious holiday without too many comforts in the earlier leg of the 4 day trip and had wanted to end with a leisurely, relaxed experience on a beach resort which is the reason we had booked an expensive hotel. We ended up getting pretty stressed about the lack of amenities and the really poor service both in the front office and the staff. We will definitely not recommend this resort to anyone we know!
Alleppey offers lots of places to visit, but of course one must have a comfortable stay in a hotel. Alleppey beach resort is perfect for a couple or family. There are early bird offers during year end bookings and I booked that way to avail some extra discount. The hotel offers their own tourism by giving packages like Back waters cruise, boat house Tours, hourly and daily basis. Also there is an ayurvedic wellness room where I had a body massage so relaxing therapy. My daughter enjoyed swaying in the Hammock and playing around in the gardens. It's unstoppable fun and experience for 3 days. Food was fantastic, my wife asked chef to surprise us with a special dish and he cooked wonderful prawns that were so yummy with gravy.
Location wise, it was excellent. Appearance wise, it was good. Booking and front office was very good. Service of the staff was good. Room was very good. Food and drink was very good. Activities were average there. As a destination, Allepay is a very good place. I went there in the month of August or September. I visited the place with my family.
It is one of the excellent hotel available in Alleppy, location of the hotel was very perfect with pin drop silence, nature is on top of it at this place. I visited in December last year. It is one of the best destination in India for honeymoon. House boats were really amazing thing and enjoyed a lot.
Alappuzha is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. The taste of green chromide(karimeen)is still in my tongue. The fishes are caught upon demand. This resort has very well maintained air conditioned rooms and clean bathrooms. The resort offers a pollution free environment. What I disliked about the resort is their terms of service. The stay here is also a bit quiet expensive compared to their services. But the traditional Kerala food provided by them is of great taste. The beach was not visible in my room. The resort also offers entertainment for children and adults like games. Different outdoor and indoor games are provided to make the stay more memorable. The resort also provides restaurant, pool, coffee shop and internet.
