Amali

Amali is located in the Sakri Taluka, which is popular for a temple devoted to Kanhaiyalal Maharaj or Lord Vishnu. As per legends, Raja Makardhwaja of Mulher visited a place near Okha Port to offer prayers to the presiding deity. It is believed that the King dreamt about carrying the idol of this temple with him to Mulher.

He was constraint by the order of the Lord to not to put the idol anywhere down while his way to Mulher. The bearers of the palanquin cut across jungles in order to reach the destination faster. They halted to take a dip in a river and placed the idol on a pipal tree. They were amazed to see that the idol was stuck to the ground and since then it is located at the temple built around it.
