The old town of Ambikanagar is located at 55 km from the district of Bankura and around 270 km from Kolkata city. This was once a Jain pilgrimage centre, the relics of which are available till date at 4 km away from the lake.
Ambikanagar is also famous for its handicrafts made out of grass and bamboo sticks by the tribal people. This place can be easily reached by trains and taxis from Kolkata.
