Animesh Lochana Chaitya, another important tourist attraction, is also associated with the enlightenment of Lord Buddha. This is the same place where Lord Buddha spent seven days looking at the Bodhi Tree, during the second week of his enlightenment.
It is believed that he spent these days without batting his eyelids as paying a gratitude to the tree for providing shelter. In addition, this was followed by another seven days, during which he walked between the Bodhi Tree and the Animesh Lochana Chaitya. The route between two places is popularly known as Ratnachankrama or the Jewel Walk.
