Hotel Review of Jackpot Inn
Comments: A jackpot of a holiday

-Vijaya Das Panicker

Life in today’s fast-paced and turbulent times with the fiscal scale going all haywire, one considers to just break-free from this claustrophobic existence, and take that much needed break with friends or family. So, this is what I did when I got a weekend chance to holiday in Goa with my mother dearest, who was also looking forward to soak her feet in the therapeutic sands of the tropical island.

Amidst the beautiful scenic surroundings of Vagator Village was Jackpot Inn hotel, our home-away-from-home abode just what my mother preferred. The scenic ambiance made her feel nostalgic of her ancestral home back in South. The Vagator Beach was just few minutes away from our hotel’s vicinity and I got all set to soak-in its serenity. But, before I could get carried away we checked out the hotel’s restaurant that served us a scrumptious afternoon meal. After a satiating lunch I coordinated with the hotel’s travel desk and made an itenary for the next day to check out the historical surroundings of the place, which comprised of the 500-year-old Portuguese Fort. Meanwhile, in the evening I was tempted to try my hands on some video games in the game zone of the hotel. But, my mother wanted to experience the ayurvedic massage available in the health spa. And, lo behold the massage really took our body and soul to a whole new level of rejuvenation. I don’t know about my mother but I never felt so pampered all my life. It was like a girl’s night-out in the spa.

The next day we geared up for the sight trip to the Portuguese Fort, which gave us the essence of the Old Portuguese era. But, my mother refused to climb up those black rocks and waited for me in the car. I gingerly climbed up to the fort but mid-way lost my breath, but my fatigue was compensated with the stunning view from the fort, covering the wide expanse of greenery and the blue sea. Back in the car, we drove to the market nearby and bought the famous Goan sweet enticer by the name of Bebinca.

Our last day of the break was spend just simply lounging in the pool-side of the hotel, which was maintained with a Jacuzzi. The garden area of the hotel was also very invigorating for our urban souls where we leisurely strolled in the evening. The trip to this exotic place made us richer and healthier for all future challenges of life. But, I wish Jackpot Inn hotel could have been true to its name and had been designed with a casino, where we could have won some brownie points (I guess the urban-attitude has not left my tranquil soul).

Best Experience: The ayurvedic massage available in the health spa really took our body and soul to a whole new level of rejuvenation, and was pampered. It was like a girl’s night-out in the spa
Worst Experience: No worst experience
