My overall experience was good in this hotel. I booked my room through travel agent. Location and appearance were nice. Booking and front office staff was okay. Staff services were average. Food and drink was delicious. Hotel staff was okay. Rooms were neat and clean. I had no issues about food facility there. They provided bonfire in the hotel. Hotel was recommendable for other travelers. I visited there with my family in the month of February 2014 and it was a relaxing trip. Wayanad was an excellent place as tourism.
Stayed 5 nights and absolutely enjoyed the calm atmosphere, the walks in the surroundings, searching at the sky and relax. Location is beautiful, no affluence in the apartment but the all-important amenities are there, the interior is accurate with a acceptable bed. The balcony/terrace is a admirable abode to rest, read, write, alcohol a cup of tea. The alignment is adorable whether it was the breakfast, cafeteria or dinner. The baker takes into application the wishes and prepares accordingly. Great variety, all is actual fresh, lots of vegetables adapted in assorted ways. The actuality that there is no electricity during the day is not a botheration at all: this abode is not for spending time in the home, one is alfresco the accomplished day and gets disconnected. Would adulation to appointment added often.
Hotel Annapara is normal, but clean, neat and safe. Provides 24 hours current supply, good supervisor, TV facility, house keeping is also good.
I don’t know if it is the icy water or the pummelling force of the falls that makes you gasp for air when you first ease yourself under the frothy, raging cascade. The twenty-feet-high fall had gorged considerably after the monsoon had settled over Wayanad and the swollen stream tumbling over the rocky knoll carried a mighty punch that whacked your back for all it was worth. If you’ve ever let the dextrous hands of the famed Ayurvedic masseurs of Kerala work on your muscles, you realise this is equally effective but far more forceful and vigorous. I am at Annapara, so named for the striking resemblance of the surrounding hills to the back of an elephant, located 4.5 km into the hills from Vythiri on the Mysore–Calicut highway. Plantations of tea and coffee cover the surrounding hills in quilted carpets of green in varying hues. Pepper creepers wind around trunks of silver oak that dot the hills regulating sunlight on the bushes. I am in a ‘boutique’ guesthouse perched on a hillock that offers a commanding view of mist-clad hilltops, grassy meadows on hillsides and swaying trees soaring into the sky. Chembra peak, the highest in Wayanad, is visible on a clear day but shrouded in mist during winter. Pregnant monsoon clouds scud across from the Arabian Sea and slam into the hills of the Western Ghats that stand like ramparts – stretching for nearly a thousand km down the southern peninsula. Torrential rains lash the region in unabated fury for nearly half the year from June to November. Monsoon in Kerala has a charm all its own and the Annapara guesthouse lets you savour that at an unhurried, gentle pace. Indeed, you realise that the sheer rusticity of the place lets you relax and unwind anytime of the year. To begin with, there’s no electricity here save for a small generator that lights up the place from 6.30 to 10.30 pm. Of course, there is no TV or newspaper. Your cell-phone would be your only link to humanity. There’s no habitation for miles around save for a tea factory and the attached staff dormitories located a good distance away on a cleared terrace on a hillside. This isolation is a winning feature. You wake up to birdcalls in the morning and listen to the rhythmic creaking of the cicadas as dusk approaches. Fireflies glow in the darkness and barking deers, screeching simians and howling winds punctuate the stillness of the night. Though elephants, deer, porcupines and hares are only occasionally sighted, birds of varied hues and shapes are everywhere.
It was a memorable experience that i would cherish any time. Home stay was excellent and special thanks to the folks who manage the home stay well. They took care of us so well and organized great trips and food.
