Arakkonam

Arakkonam is a small town in the Vellore District of Tamil Nadu, which lies in proximity to Thiruthani. The town is famous for ancient temples like Thiruvalankadu Vadaaranyeswarar Temple and Sholingur Narasimha Swamy Hill Temple.

The Kanchi Kamakoti Agastheeswarar Temple, Paranji Sundara Perumal Temple, Nemili Bala Abirami Temple, Muthumari Amman Temple and Arthanareeswarar Temple are also situated near Arakkonam.

This town is located near Thakkolam village, having seven Lord Shiva temples. Among these, the Jalanatheeswarar Temple, Somanatheeswarar Temple, Thirumambayanathar Temple and Payandiamman Temples are prominent ones.
