Aranyaka Homestay Reviews
We went to Munnar to get away from the stress of living in a city. I would say going there in monsoon was worth it as the mountains were really green and tantalizing... The resort is 5 to 7 km away from main city. And it is in a perfect location. The view from the resort is perfect. All the rooms are well designed to have the mountain view. We did....Read More
Good place to go for. If at all you are planning for Kerala trip via Munnar. Morning breeze and mist awesome whether, spices garden, hotel yummy food, good staff, well managed services and staff just made my trip awesome.
It was awesome leaving in Munnar, it is rainy days going on feel like heaven, it is true that this place is land of God. It is combination of waterfall, tea plants, hill station, that century. It is basically honeymoon place.
We had a very good time during the monsoon. The rooms were good, location was excellent, the food was good and value for money. The staff were all very nice and the service was also good. I recommend the deluxe or super deluxe rooms since they have a much better view than the cottages. Looking forward for a next time.
The hotel was located conveniently. It was located a bit far from the city. There was no shopping mall or temple nearby the hotel. I had travelled to the hotel by own car. The appearance of the hotel was outstanding. I didn’t have any delay in check in and checkout. I was happy with the room assigned to me. Mountain View was visible from my room. T....Read More
The hotel is neat and well maintained. It has a view of the Attukad waterfalls and that looks mesmerizing. The food was good and the hospitality was great. There are two cons. The road lading to the hotel is pathetic and it really requires attention. Also they don't provide accommodation for drivers and the dinner provided for driver was also bad.....Read More
The property location was really awesome. Away from city with beautiful scenery around the property with Waterfall view and Tea estate view. Helpful staffs, neat and clean room with basic facilities. The only con is the food. It is only average and not to the expectation (i. E. To the amount paid). The Vehicle co-ordinator Ganesh is enriched with t....Read More
Nice place surrounded by Tea Estate. Property was ok but food wasn't good. The staff were courteous. The waterfall view was a big hype at least in Jan. Due to dry season the waterfall was almost not existent. But it was away from the main city, hence was quite peaceful.
Resort is located at very beautiful place, for each room they have facility of balcony where there is direct view towards water falls and mountain and valleys. Rooms are kept very clean and sanitize Food at resort is really good, for an ex: one Allu paratha and one Briyani is full for 2 and tasty is yummy. Front office are very helpful. Cos....Read More

Aranyaka is one of the best hotels I have stayed in by far. It is exactly as advertised in the photographs. Amidst the Pallivasal tea estate and flanked by mountains with a superb view of the Attukad waterfalls this is heaven on earth. The way the valley fills up with mist every evening adds to the brownie points of this place. We walked through the tea estate to the waterfalls one evening and that was probably the best shorted hike I have had in a long time. The hotel itself is well maintained and has a superb service staff. I cannot say enough about the hardworking and efficient staff and the amazing soft spoken manager. They are gems! We stayed in the new building and were a bit disappointed when we did not get the cottages. But fret not, the new building is as good as the cottages. In fact I would say the view is better as they are located higher and give a very pristine view of the cottages themselves. The restaurant food was good and served in rooms as well as the restaurant. I will not deviate from my 5 rating in spite of the Chinese food that we ordered not being up to the mark because come on, who orders chinese food in Munnar! The breakfast itself was basic and good, and I think the service that we get here is enough to overlook any small issues that you could see. For example - I would have liked it if they served some typical Kerala food here. The location of the hotel is a bit away from the main town of Munnar but that is the best because who would want the hustle and bustle of the town when you could have this! I have recommended this resort to all my friends and would continue to do so. Thanks a lot Aranyaka. My first 5 star rating goes to you. PS: There is absolutely zero network here. So be ready to go off the grid!
I had been to Munnar with my wife and we stayed for 2 nights in Aranyaka Resort. The location for this resort is a big plus with lush green mountains in front and a big waterfall. It's a treat to your eyes. You can chill out in the balcony for hours. We booked the delux rooms. They also have cottages but view is not good from it. Service was excellent, food was awesome. They don't have much of activities. Parking space for car was cramped. They could have made more proper arrangements for parking the cars. Overall a very good place and recommended. It's 5-6 km away from Munnar main town, calm and quiet.
The target was a hill station and that has to be Munnar. It was a long lost plan and after almost 4 year of belated planning, the chance finally came for us to visit Munnar. I was fortunate enough to get the reference of this resort from some other hotel, which eventually was not available. Hence, we were little skeptical about the stay but with a lots of confusion in my mind, I started following up and researched the reviews on this resort, which were better than average in the online archives. I called them up and enquired. They were pleasant enough to speak in detail with patience and there were not a single call from me which got unanswered. The first experience was good. So, I decided to book one of the home stay in the resort for my family. Since our trip was an extremely planned and strategized one, I had a series of conversations with their staff to understand the minute details of Munnar make the trip really a worthy one. After all, it was a 3 day and two nights visit and every minute was necessary to be spent with a value in return. The hotel staff helped us in getting whatever information they could get for us regarding sightseeing, places, locations, facilities, travel info and all those was nice much before even landing in the place. We reached Munnar by train on 24th January early morning and there was the driver waiting for us - I could not understand how he could recognize us even though we were meeting the very first time. He drove us pleasantly through the "gods own country" for over 3 hours and stopped 3 places for sight-seeing near beautiful waterfalls. The water falls' beauty took away all the tiredness from us. And, then we landed in the 'Heaven' of Munnar - The Aranyaka Resorts. It was a set of nicely drawn scenic series of houses separated from each other with lots of landscape and we grabbed the one booked for us. My kid was busy on the massage chair and I along with my wife just roamed around. There were sceneries all over the place. In fact, if you just walk as little as 100 mts from the home stay, you can sight the extreme beautiful water fall just a little farther from within the tea garden and, believe me, we 3 of us were staying in that beautiful place - me, my wife and the nature. You cannot think anything beyond that - just imagine and experience it out when you be there. The hotel staff was extremely courteous and arranged daily sightseeing trips on a taxi for us and we could visit more than expected and more than the desired place of visit to remote areas. The guidance of the driver called 'Ganesh' and his knowledge on the sights was A+. Moreover, it was a marvellous trip and all that was because of the hospitality provided by the Aranyaka Resorts staff and owners. I recommend couples, family and even bachelors to visit the place and enjoy their trip to Munnar anytime they prefer. The following advice would be handy when you are in Munnar though (which obviously the resorts' staff would explain you during your trips): 1. Avoid visiting the gardens with various types of trees - it's a waste of time. 2. Avoid taking trips from local travels - prefer the ones from hotel - they know it better and will be helpful as guides as well. 3. No need to take any other guides 4. Visit for "Kalaripayattu" - the kerala martial arts - that will be mind boggling 5. Do not eat too much while travelling in taxi - because of the up and down route in mountains, you may feel sick. 6. Last but not the least; enjoy the walk for a while on the curvy roads, if you travel during Jan/Feb, which could be a pleasant time to visit. 7. If you want to experience the mist, then you could visit there just after the rains and before the winter. Well, I wish there is another chance for my entire family to visit there again and, this time, I would take my friends and other family members along with me. We would stay there for some more days and enjoy the hospitality of the locals out there. Do a bit of trekking and cycling. We would like to visit there during the winter and get lost within the heavenly mists all around the hill station.
Complimentary breakfast with buffet was served with more varieties, the quality and taste of the food was excellent and they provided north, south Indian and Kerala food varieties with ice cream. Conveniently located with good hospitality. There were 3 types of rooms, which was I stayed room tariff was around Rs. 2200 per day and room was spacious, neat and well maintained with good working basic amenities. It was located in a beautiful location with pleasant near to the waterfalls and hotel surrounded by tea estate. Staff were good, polite, professional and very caring and cooperative. I went here with friends for relaxation in September 2014 and my native place is Erode. There were activities like campfire and they arranged a vehicle for sightseeing places with a guide and they are given a map for sightseeing places in Munnar. There was no proper road to this place, it was inconvenient, so they should have main road facility. The hotel room tariff was value for money and it was recommendable to others.
Best Location .Can hear the sizzlling Waterfall whole night though 1 km away but seen from the room. Good Breakfast but poor quality North Indian Food -need to improve on that Rooms classic , neat and well furnished with good location giving privacy to couples and Fun to families with every 2 rooms attached . One should prefer only ARYANAKA .Not advisable for those who do not have their own vehicle.
