Arasavalli village is popular for the Sun God temple. As per legends, an idol of Lord Surya was installed here for the welfare of mankind by Kasyapa, the famous sage. Surya is believed to belong to the Kasyapasa Gotra.
The temple is believed to have been established by Lord Devendra as per the Sthala Puranam of the temple. The idol of the Sun God is installed in such a way that the rays of the rising sun fall on the feet of the idol.
