We had a trip to Matheran with our family-friends. We were searching for a hotel with good, hygienic dormitory rooms. Indeed we got them. The food we were served with was exotic and really mouth-watering.!! Apart from all the food the service by Pavan Kumar and his colleagues was very friendly and helpful. But the television did not have much channels to view, and when we reported this to the receptionist he did not get back to us about this. The idea of Omega adventure was a fantastic idea...! All our kids enjoyed doing it. The swimming pool should have been cleaned as we found some dried leaves and dead, small, insects over it. But the overall work of staff members and the hotel service was good and yes it was very appreciating, your hotel has made our winter trip memorable. Thank you for such a lovely experience. I hope you will improvise on the points mentioned above.

I would like to recommend this hotel to others. The location is also good as it is located near main market specially the food is damn tasty would definitely love to visit same hotel on our trip to matheran.

The hotel's location is not far from the main market or station. The ambiance and room conditions were good for a family crowd. The person in charge paid personal attention to needs. The adventure sports started this December were the gem in the crown for us.

It was very good exp staying at Ashok hotel. Nice open space to spend early mornings and after sunsets. Hygienic environment. Not so far from main road, but still will feel like real hill station stay. Good to visit hotel. And economic too.

We visited Matheran for the first time we started from Mumbai at 6:15 am and reached at 10:00 am, there is no alternative for commute besides horses & rickshaw.

Just after we had our breakfast surprisingly the horse rider approached directly to my doorstep. He told me the hotel management has allowed this guy to deal with customers(since he is also a Marwadi). So I decided to book three horses for my family. He charged 2000 rupees saying, this the cheapest in Matheran. Besides, it was a great experience, I also came to know that this horse rider has ripped me in big way. Everyone there was charges something from 300 to 400 rupees per horse. Sorry for stating the incident in the review section but I am trying to make a point here.

The hotel staff should not allow such people in their premise rather educate their customers before they are fooled like this.

Though we stayed there for few hours, it was a nice experience. The room was quite spacious and the food was good. We had requested for hot water to take bath in the morning before departure which was not provided. Rest all were fine and one thing, the swimming pool, only fish can swim into that.

The hotel is very spacious, peaceful and airy. Location is a bit far from main market, so it is a peaceful and silent area, good for resting. Has one swimming pool. The rooms were not good. The food was also below average. Housekeeping and staff was very polite, but hotel needs to improve its overall service. However, it is a heritage hotel. With improvements, it can become a grand spot for getaway from Mumbai!

We visited to hotel Ashoka in October 2014 with my friends for 1 night. The overall experience was very good. The hotel situated in a lot of greenery. The location is bit away from city centre but very good for nature lover, gives some piece of mind. The staff is good and flexible. They have swimming pool which is clean. Rooms are average and overall is good hotel.

Stay was good. The location where the hotel is located is quiet peaceful. Food was delicious. Had a great time with friends chilling out there. Room was spacious and the service provided was worth a penny. Also the atmosphere was fabulous. If I get a chance to visit the place I will surely reside in Hotel Ashok. Also the games we played like table tennis, volleyball made our stay quiet interesting.
