Me and my husband visited Hyderabad in the first week of September 2015. We both wanted a short break from routine. We stayed at Best Western Ashoka Hotel for three days and enjoyed every moment. We booked the executive room. The room was clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable. Cooling of the A/C was good. Ample of lights in the room. Coffee maker and mini fridge was available. Safety vault was also present. Washroom was clean and had all the accessories like shampoo, body wash, soap, body moisturizer, hair dryer, comb, dental kit, towels, etc. There is a gym facility available in the hotel. Every morning for breakfast they arrange a huge buffet spread. It consisted of variety of dishes like Poha, Idli, flavored idli, Medu vada, upma, sambar, 2 types of chutneys, tea, coffee, boiled eggs, cornflakes, bread, cup cakes, fresh fruits cut into pieces, boiled corn and peanuts. The buffet menu was same on all the three days. Breakfast was very tasty. Service was very slow by the waiters who used to serve water or clean the table. We never got a chance to order main course so cannot comment on taste. Observed that the prices in the menu card were bit on higher side. The front office staff were very quick. During check-in we just had to wait for 15 minutes to complete the formalities. Same was the case while checking-out. The only problem we faced was cable connection was not working in our room. We had informed this to the reception on second day but unfortunately it was not fixed. The best thing about this hotel is it's location. Birla Temple and Hussain Sagar Lake are very nearby. Since, it is located on the main road you can roam around till late night without fear. You get autos very easily from the gate. Also, the bus to Ramoji film city stops just outside the hotel. There are lots of good restaurants around where you can reach by taking an auto within ten minutes from this hotel. There is lot of traffic and honking in the early mornings. So choose a room away from main road side. This hotel being a business hotel you will see lot of office crowd on weekdays.
I love to travel & work-wise I am blessed to get options to try new cities & hotels. We have no restrictions to stay at one specific hotel so I love trying whatever is within my range. I got online to check hotels close to office & none was within my range honestly. But I suddenly got through a great deal at a three star hotel & without wasting time booked it. I could easily reach the location & my office was just 10 m from there. The check-in was not a problem & the room was so beautiful & comfortable. It was late & time to eat so I immediately called the room service & they asked me to try the famous Biryani but to my surprise it was overloaded with SALT. They were generous enough to have it changed. Food is always important you see. Even if simple, must be edible! During my morning breakfast I went to their restaurant & opted for fruits & salads over other items because taste wise other items were just OK. The checkout took a little time & I had to get my company name typed on the invoice along with mine which was done but took some good time. They should have better smiling faces too. So, if I have to go there, I think I will only wish to stay & enjoy the comforting bed but surely NOT eat there.
In my opinion there's not a single word left to say anything against or feel bad about hotel. It's just awesome. Very good front office assistant, room service within minutes available. Quick response for everything. Feels very comfortable stay. Good WiFi service. Even though it is a three star hotel but far best than better hotel 5 star hotel. We would love to stay again whenever we visit Hyderabad.
Location : Excellent as it's near by Birla Temple (walking distance around 800 meters). Rooms: Good, don't look for view from room or anything. Comfort level for sleep was good, especially when you are tired. But the as hotel was bang on main road, you can hear sound from lorry, bus honking constantly. It was okay for night as traffic was less, but not good for afternoon nap. Bathrooms were good and big enough. Food: Breakfast was complimentary which was good, nothing fancy but usual stuff like idly, dosa, bread butter, omelette etc. Quality was good. Service: Reception people were rude/bad, they made us wait for good amount of time before giving us room. Wi-Fi service was very bad, most of the time it was not working. Wi-Fi signal was coming only at the edge of room. Otherwise, people in foodservice were quite better. There were lots of school kids on our floor due to holiday season and they are making lot of noise after repeated complaints only they became quite otherwise it was very bad. Overall, I don't say it's bad, but there are lot to improve at least from hospitality side.
It's a really nice hotel in an upper mid range category. The service was really good. The rooms were really spacious. I found the bed to be really comfortable. Although I was totally tired then. The food was delicious. Overall I had a pretty amazing stay.
