We visited KodaiKanal-Princess of hill station for Holiday! We were by car.. Own driving and roads were good! We were on weekdays and always plan weekday trip to kodaikanal as it is crowd less and no traffic. The hotel we stayed was good! South Indian food was excellent and were nominal price. Sightseeing were crowded with Tamilians. Do need of sweaters and jerkins as it is normal cool! If traveeled during Off season Umbrelle is compulsory. Visit Brericham lake! With permisiion from forest office! It is best Sightseeing spot in KodaiKanal! And it is 25 kms from there! Taxi's can be bargained.
It was Christmas and Astoria was real treat to visit...had a great time...rooms were so clean and food quality . yet the location was good but i dint have time to visit many places..
i like kodaikanal because even now this place is somewhat serene and pleasant, when compared to ootty. climate and ambience is cool and lethargic.
It was a holiday trip in the month of February. The destination was very good. The environment of the hotel was good. The hotel was conveniently located at the centre of the city. The outlook of the hotel was good. Booking and front office services were good as well. The overall service was very good. The room was maintained neat and clean and basic amenities were provided in the room. The food was provided by the hotel. The quality and quantity of the food was very good. They provided us with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. There were no activities provided by the hotel. It was value for money. I would like to recommend other travellers.
I was in Hotel Astoria in Kodai in late April 2012 with my husband and kids and we had a marvellous time. The hotel staff was very friendly and warm and the food (South Indian mainly) was excellent. The breakfasts very good and generally the ambience, service at the hotel was very. Very convenient location - just before the bus stand and proximity to the market and the lake.
