"Awesome location for leisure and..."

Awesome location for leisure and also peace of mind, the service of the hotel is just as good as the people there and also the amenities are very good i think we have been through all coorg and i found misty woods as one of the best places in the Coorg with complete forest surrounded and also nice and beautiful water falls backside with some wonderful gym equipment and also sports activity. The special mention of the cottage they are named after the different kind of trees, a destination where age is no bar right from kids to the elders everyone can enjoy the nature at its best in Misty woods .

Best Experience: The best thing was its service it was heavily raining but still the manager took us all around the property and showed the beauty of the hotel personally so i think it is very rare that a manager himself takes off time to show u the property so according to me one of the best gestures i would get.

"Monsoon on western ghats is..."

  • Posted Jul 20, 2011
Monsoon on western ghats is one of my favourite season. My holiday was to relax by not travelling around but having interesting activity within or close to place of stay. I preferred Misty woods for the water falls within their property.

Best Experience: Best experience of being close to nature during monsoon. Staffs are very courteous and helpful. Best place to rejuvenate.

Worst Experience: Food: No authentic coorgi food. No pork or beef in menu. Room service of food is very expensive 50% of the bill cost.

"It was the worst experience..."

  • Posted May 19, 2011
It was the worst experience we had. We had been there for our first anniversary and wished we never ever go back to such a place. It is not suggested for people who want to see Coorg.Because it is so far away from the city and the road to the resort is also very bad. The ambiance is OK. The food that they gave us was also apathetic. First day he gave us something called as vegetable pullao and then we asked for non-veg. He served the vegetable curries first and then after a real long time when we asked him explicitly he got the non-veg for curry for us. Then on the 2nd day also for dinner he gave the same rice telling another name. By the taste of it and the look we could make out that it was the same rice we ate the previous day.And if you need coffee at 8 am, then I would suggest you to call that guy Antony at 6am and ask him for a coffee so that for sure you will get it by 8 am. And if you ask for 2 cups of coffee you get exactly 2 cups of coffee which will get cold by the time u start enjoying your coffee. They don't use flasks to give coffees. About the manager we have to talk. He does not know proper English and talks as if he is a foreigner. He as a manager cannot make a simple decision also. There are these white colored rods on the walls which are almost near the reception where there are plants hanging over the rods.We assumed it was made of cement and my husband hung over it only to find out that it was made of plaster of paris and it bent down. No one had seen it.But since we were sincere we went and told Danny about it and he told us 'I will have to talk to my Boss about it'. We were OK with it and on the day of our check out he gave us a bill of Rs 2500 for the rod. When we asked him about it he said there is a lot of difficulty in getting the labor and things like that. He told us all stories. The he said this is a decision by his owner and he cant tell anything about it. Then when we insisted on talking to his owner he just spoke to some guy over the phone and hung up the phone without letting us talk. We suspect if there was someone really on the phone or if this guy was just pretending. It is such a sad place and the manager is a worst guy. He does not know to treat people being a manager. And a must tell thing is that in the evenings it is better not to open the main door at all. Else there will be all types of creatures in your room.Leaving the room open with the lights on will attract them into the room. Thanks god that we had not left the room open but still a grass hopper had made it to our room. If you need hot water, then you will have to let go off 4-5 buckets of water which will be cold and only after that you will get the hot water. It is such a disgusting place overall. To see the other places in Coorg you have to travel a lot and there are no ATMS nearby nor any petrol pumps. I really hate this place and would never go back again and would not suggest anyone there.

Best Experience: nothing at all

Worst Experience: food was really bad. they charged too much for a peg also. it was too costly. i hate it.
