Hotel Review of Baga Residency
Comments: Goa, in winter, is one of the best outdoor tourist destinations in the country. The weather , the sea, the foreign tourists, and above all, the variety and quality in terms of food options available at the most reasonable rates, is unparalleled.

We decided to stay in the Baga area in North Goa as it known to be the hub of the best nightspots and eating places. We were not disappointed. From Ingo's and Mackies night markets, to the nightclubs Titos and Mambos, to the Loungefly and Britto's, to the great food at Lila's Cafe and Cavala, it was all there. And of course there was the very happening Baga Beach.
Best Experience: Goa, in winter, is one of the best outdoor tourist destinations in the country. The weather , the sea, the foreign tourists, and above all, the variety and quality in terms of food and drink options available at the most reasonable rates, is unparalleled.
Worst Experience: The choice of hotel Baga Residency was our worst experience. However, since there was so much to do on and off the beach, we came back to the hotel only to catch our two winks.

We did not want to spend too much on room rent as we knew that we would be outdoor mostly. We also wanted to be in the Baga area, which was known to have the best nightspots and eating places in Goa.

Based on above criteria, the hotel, was recomended to us by many websites like travelguru, yatra, makemytrip, etc was definitely not value for money. We paid Rs 2250 a night for room only; at that price there were numerous better quality hotels available in the area.

The first room given to us had a window opening into the dining area. There was so much traffic noise in the room it was as if we were on the roadside itself. Further the toilet seat was broken and the flush leaking. On complaining we were shifted to another room, thankfully much quieter, and thankfully the bathroom seemed to be in order.

Thare was no soap, towels, bedsheets. On requesting we were provided one mini soap bar, couple of torn towels and stained bedsheets.

We had to check out in the morning for a 8:15 flight. We were told that at 5:30 a.m they will neither be able to provide us tea, nor hot water would be available for having bath. Wake up call for 5:30 came at 5:45 with no apologies.

I am sharing this detailed experience not only to make readers aware of this hotel but also to make them vary of recomendations of the websites, whose employees are either totally ignorant of hotel ratings etc, or else they wilfully misguide users.
