Balh Valley, also called as the Sunder Nagar Valley, is at an altitude of 800 m above sea level. The valley lies between the Shimla Ridge and the Shivalik Hills. The Suketi Stream is the major stream flowing through the valley, which provides water for cultivating sugarcane, maize, wheat, ginger and paddy in the region. Dairy farming, mixed farming, horticulture and animal husbandry are some of the main occupations of the villagers living in the valley.
