I traveled Wayanad. This was my holiday trip. I stayed in Banasura Island Retreat. I went there in the month of January 2016 along with my friends. I booked this hotel directly. The Destination of the Wayanad is lovely. The location of the hotel was very nice. It was nearby all sightseeing places. The roads were very congested. The appearance of the hotel was very good. The interior and exterior look of the hotel was traditional look. The front desk was good to welcome us. The staff was lazy at the time of check in and check out. The room was beautiful. It was clean and spacious. The balcony was nice. WiFi facility was not available. The tv was not available. The food was Superb. I had Chicken biriyani. It was very tasty. I didn't see any activity in this hotel. The Services were well kept. Overall this hotel was nice to stay.
Activity was arranged by the hotel. The food quality was good in the hotel. Service was good in the hotel. The hotel was located far from the city. Parking facility was available at the hotel. I would recommend this hotel for other travellers. I don't have any suggestion for this hotel.
The hotel location was awesome. There was no delay in check in and checkout process. The behaviour of the was friendly. All the facility was in working condition in the room. WiFi facility was provided in the lobby. I would suggest this hotel to provide WiFi facility in the room. The room was comfortable to me. The activity was provided at the hotel. I had visited this hotel with couple.
The activity was not arranged by the hotel. There was no problem in check in and checkout. The behaviour of was good. AC, TV, fan and hot water was provided in the room. The food quality was okay in the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to other travellers. I don't have any suggestion for this hotel.
The hotel was located inside the town. The hotel was very costly. The spent money at the hotel was not worth. Everything was good at the hotel. Games were available at the hotel. Service at the hotel was fine. I had visited this hotel with my family. The reception people behaviour was supportive.
This is THE resort if you are looking for a peaceful, soothing, refreshing experience amongst the greens. The best thing about this place, I felt, is the balcony and the scenic beauty you get from there. I could not get enough of it. You can sit, relax, sleep over in the balcony in the cool breeze with no sounds but the birds chirping and the water flowing Hygienic and antiquated cottages, a cute play area for kids, TT, badminton, caroms, cycles for rent, swimming pool coming soon, campfire, good food - they seem to have it all. Good hospitality too. Fully impressed. Dinner could have been a bit better We didn't go to any sightseeing places because the stay at this resort was entertaining in itself. The Banasura dam that we had thought of going on our way back, was too crowded on Sunday, so we didn't go The resort offers a small trekking and a herbal Bath in a natural stream (do-not-miss-that).
Travelled with my wife for 4 days in December. The resort is slightly difficult to reach as it is fairly far from the large cities nearby, Calicut being the closest. But once you reach here, the resort is set beautifully against the backdrop of mountains with the Banasura dam on the other side. There are hardly any activities to be done except for walks on the road either side of the resort. We found a nice waterfall (Meenmutty if remember correctly) some 3-4 kms before reaching the resort. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful.
I liked the location of the hotel. The management was excellent. I wish we could get loghuts, but they were all full. I'd love to go back and stay in loghuts sometime again! However one thing that I would like to see is more options for food in restaurant. It's a nice place!
There are only 3 things you can experience at this resort- water, forest and hills. There are not many buildings, there are no other people at all, and trust me there is not even a road. Excellent location, good food (at least for Malayalees) and very good service. You don't expect a formal/ professional setting with service people in ironed uniforms walking around greeting you, but you will find friendly people who will help you with everything possible There are no facilities at the resort other than basic ones, they don't even have a pool, neither a TV. The idea is, it is in the middle of a forest and next to a natural dam, you cannot go there to be in a pool, have fun stuff for your kids. You go there and experience the completely natural setting, walk around, do some trekking and explore nature. Wayanad has a lot of places to be seen, a 3 to 5 day trip is ideal, else choose the minimum 2 or 3 spots, activities and cut it short to a 2 day trip.
Fantastic view of Banasura Dam from the room balcony (1st floor). Food and service was awesome. The people in the hotel are so friendly. Had a romantic candle light dinner in a hut. Worth for money but not much activities. Not difficult place to reach.
Destination was were good, very greenery and peaceful. Conveniently located, nearer to the city. Looks were very good and very beautiful. Interiors and exteriors were beautiful. Rooms were spacious, neat and clean all basic amenities were in working condition. Beautiful view from the room. Food was available, Quality was nice. Indoor and outdoor activities were there but did not participate. No Sight seeing facility desk in hotel. No delays in check-in and check-out. Value for money. Highly Recommendable, No Suggestions
Room service responds was very good. There were no problem with power cut. It was a wonderful experience at the hotel. The amenities provided were up the expectation. The breakfast provided was excellent. Hotel lobby was good. Its worth recommending to my friends. We went for that hotel just for relaxing and fresh up. The room are very neat and clean.
Wayanad has been exceptional. The kingmaker in disguise, this place has been at its best to give Kerala the due status of God's own country. The facilities of this hotel have been a grade. The hospitality has been par excellence and it requires a loud applause to be at its best.
It is one of the best hotel in Wayanad district and its near to the Banasura Sagar dam, which is worlds second largest earth dam. One can visit their from Kalpetta, they provide excellent food and the room is very clean and neat, it is the best place for nature lovers and good time to visit here is summer season.
Stayed at Banasura Island Retreat for 2 nights during Aug 2014. Staff at Banasura is very courteous. I had booked the property through Goibibo. Com and they had botched the booking. While I received a confirmation voucher from Goibibo however same was not confirmed by Banasura. It took me around 45 min to sort this out with Banasura and Goibibo after 8 hour drive from Bangalore to Banasura. When I called Goibibo rep they told me that they will figure this out and call me back which they never did, however Banasura guys themselves sorted this by giving me a room which was out of service for some maintenance work. Since the room was out of service for maintenance, hence it will not be appropriate to comment on room quality. Location of this property is the biggest plus point. It is one of the most scenic locations where I have stayed so far. Simply put it was a visual treat. The biggest let down is the food of this place they need to improve quality of food as well as the spread .
