Bansi home stay: the best

Posted 9 Feb

Mr. Burman was an unbelievably gracious host. His home is beautiful, the location very convenient. our room was spacious and clean. His cook is wonderful; the food we had was some of the best we?ve had in India. But the most amazing thing was meeting Mr. Burman himself. He is a true renaissance man. Our conversation was fascinating. Also, on a practical level, he helped with train reservations, tracking the time our train was leaving, arranged to have the charger I left curriered to Varanasi. I would like to return to Agra just to stay at the Bansi, relax and read in the library there.

Perfect Place in Agra

Posted 30 Oct, 2017

We loved staying at Bansi. Big room and bathroom, in a lovely building with a lot of cute communal spaces. Great location, central to everything. Best of all, your host is a charming gentleman who can offer expert advice on the city, the Taj, places to eat etc. Breakfast was one of the best we had in India!

Great stay with best attention

Posted 14 Aug, 2017

Bansi is a great place to stay in Agra, their service is delightful and we felt like home. They helped us with the visits around the city, Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri and we had a real good dinner at home with a great conversation about India. We strongly recommend it to stay in Agra.

Welcoming place to stay

Posted 2 Aug, 2017

Bansi homestay is a well run clean and welcoming place to stay. We had an excellent experience during our stay. The hotel organised an auto rickshaw tour and the driver wss excellent. Very friendly and not at all pushy or demanding. This was a highlight of our short visit. However, the next day we requested a driver to bring us to Bharatpur. It was very disappointing to have been given a car driver who was very very pushy and demanding. As soon as we got in the car he tried to yake us to shops where he must get commision. Then he tried to force us to use his guide in fatepuhr sikri and as a result we skipped going to see the unesco world heritage sight. We just wanted out of his taxi at this point. Upon our arrival in Bhuratpur he began demanding his tip and was not at all deserving of one. Overall, Bansi is an excellent place to stay in Agra, just be wary of the car drivers.

A wonderful Homestay in Agra

Posted 11 Jun, 2017

Bansi Homestay is tucked away in a quiet lane but within easy walking distance of Taj Mahal and the Old City area. It represents the best of both worlds - close to everything but in a quieter part of town. There are still restaurants and cafes nearby though, which the staff at Bansi are happy to show you. The rooms are very spacious and modern with large bathrooms attached. The decor is modern. Everything is spotless and well maintained. Facilities are very good - Bed very comfy. It's like a great hotel but with the addition of individual attention from the kind and generous owners and their staff. Breakfast is served whenever you want and it's freshly prepared for you. Mr Burman and his team go out of their way to advise and assist on anything you wish - recommendations, transport arrangements, tours to local sights, history and information about Agra (very interesting chats), even calling ahead to secure hotel bookings for me in other cities (and getting me a really good deal). On my last day, I was leaving on a late train and got soaked in a downpour during the day - when I returned for my luggage, they provided me with a room to change in and insisted I ate some delicious home-cooked food before I departed. They are extremely good hosts. I would not hesitate to recommend Bansi to anyone visiting Agra. It's a wonderful place to stay.
