Barsi Gate was constructed by Alauddin Khilji in 1303 to protect the main fort from the attacks of enemies. It is currently standing in the centre of a bazaar and is part of the imposing wall which forms the outer defence of Hansi.
The gate was renovated by Ibrahim Lodhi in 1522 and raised to a height of over 30 m. The gate has various inscriptions in Persian language, out of which some date back to the period between 1304 and 1345.
