I came with my family (20 people) for about one day (one night) at the cottage. We were not expecting anything great from this cottage BUT THIS WAS HORRIBLE. As soon as we entered, Mr. Ramesh the manager was not polite to us. The cottage we were to stay in was up a hill. We had elderly people with us who could not walk up. And when we asked if we could use a car to go up, Ramesh was curt and said that we had to go at our own risk. We did not have a problem with this. Then it got even worse. The rooms were okay. The floors were dusty, the bedsheets were old, the beds were stiff. And also, hot water didn't work in most rooms. We asked for a heater in each room, but only got two heaters AFTER 2 hours after we asked. The service was very very very bad. There was only one sincere person who worked for us and was actually polite. Ramesh, one of the workers, was extremely curt and impolite to us. The food was okay. There was also a small place for us to eat. There was also a lawn for us to play. They provided us with a net. The light facilities at night didn't work. Only when we asked they put a few. The others didn't work. The heaters in the rooms bursted. The hot water in most rooms didn't work. We asked for a campfire, but in fell down in five minutes. We were not allowed to put any music because it might disturb other guests, but he did not say that we had a TIME ALLOWANCE for a campfire. Ramesh did not say anything politely, he started yelling, shouting- had ABSOLUTE RESPECT FOR GUESTS. To conclude, we had a reasonable time, mostly bc we could play in the lawn. I would not recommend coming here- there are many other better resorts to stay in Kotagiri.

There was no delay in check in and checkout process. There were no activities or no sightseeing facility organised by the management.
Checked in at the Bel air on 2nd July 2012 for one night stay. Staff looked after me – a cool drink with apologies for delay in getting the room ready. Even though I had arrived early. The hotel itself is very impressive and located close to the airport hence convenient as I had a flight to catch the next morning to Delhi. The hotel offers free WI-Fi that is easy to set up and good internet speed. The rooms are of very high standard and well laid out furniture that is comfortable. The restaurant is excellent with a well laid out range of food – tried the buffet and found it good value for money. Found the staff there to be very helpful in offering advice on what dishes were available and what to try, so well done to all.
The visit to Belair was for a team get together on a weekend. The amenities in the cottage were fine and worth the money spent. The staff were very friendly. Special mention needs to be done on the extremely good food taste and quality. Also the home made chocolates prepared at the resort is awesome.

The trip was a breather for us, so the experience was from our point of view of leisure-seeking tourists. And the place didn\'t disappoint! Situated very near to the commercial buzz of the Nilgiris, Kotagiri was an excellent point of rendezvous, at the end of each day.. About the hotel, the rooms were spacious and clean. There was TV and 24 hrs hot water geysers, which made living very comfortable. There were organized trips into the nearby forest and a camp-fire in the night. The hotel management were also very receptive about our queries and requests. Its a welcome weekend-getaway if you prefer a quiet and scenic destination, right next door to Ooty.
