We went as a group of 7 friends for the long weekend. After hours of travelling and some trouble in finding the exact location, we were welcomed by the owner, Mr. Rakesh. As we took in the beauty of the place and the coziness of the rooms, we were served a really delicious meal enough to feed an army. Despite being as hungry as wolves after our lon....Read More

We were just wondering to reach the destination. Location itself is a remote place and I just loved it. So silence and staff here is very obliging. A person called majid his hospitality towards guest is outrageous. Here don't carry any speakers nature itself produce trance music. My suggestion is just hit the place to just experience the vibrant na....Read More

Our second trip to Bethel was refreshing away from the pollution of town life. Ideal place in the lap of nature, nestled between lush green mountains. Bethel is a rustic and ideal place for peace and tranquility. I simply loved the tree house and its spectacular view.
Rakesh is the owner of this place. River rafting is there. Food is very good and also the service is also very good. Casual stay during the months of June to December is good. Kind of natural weather and good place to go with friends. Rafting is what you have to experience the most
The stay at Bethel was an unforgettable one. It is an amazing place to rejuvenate, relax and become one with the nature. The views are stunning especially from the tree house. Rakesh and his team have done an awesome job of maintaining this place which literally is in the middle of no where. And what a host Rakesh is, he took care of each and ev....Read More
I must say this was one of the best and the most different experience I had till date! The food was very homely and the staff was amazing. The owner Mr. Rakesh was just like another member of your family. The Trek too was up to the mark. I'll be really happy if I get a chance to go back in some time!

I had been to Bethel along with my family and friends in Mar 2013. I have selected this place based on the review. After reaching this place, we realized how true all these reviews which were written by previous visitors and i was happy that i have really selected a very good place for our vacation. I must admire Mr. Rakesh and his team who run this homestay, for the unlimited service they provided. The host Mr.Rakesh would make sure that each and everyone needs whether you require hot water or lukewarm water, milk for kids, curd rice whatever it is. Kudos to Rakesh and his team. We started from Bangalore around 6AM morning. By 6:45AM I got a call from Mr.Rakesh and asked us about our whereabouts. Afterwards he kept on calling for every 45 mins to make sure that we were driving on the right direction till we reached there. We reached this place around 1 PM and Mr. Rakesh welcome us with lemon juice. In another 1 hour he has arranged for very delicious lunch. Then he inquired about our plans about visiting nearby places and he had guided what are all the spots we can cover during our stay. We were treated as if we were staying on our own place. I have not seen or experienced such kind of care and hospitality by anyone else. The food was awesome, rich breakfast, masala omelette, both south Indian and north Indian dishes. Evenings we had varieties of unlimited snacks, starters amidst bonfire.. I really don't know how Rakesh and team were able to provide such an awesome food in the thick forest. We had never seen Rakesh saying no to our needs. Next day Mr.Rakesh took us for early morning trekking and had good breakfast. Later he took us to small stream close to the resort. We liked the stream very much especially my daughter. In fact he taught swimming to everyone of us very patiently which is unforgettable in our life time. During our whole stay he was telling about the nearby spots, different types of animals, birds & their behaviours and natures. In fact he was educating us about natures. The location is wonderful amidst forests, very close to nature. There are plantations around and morning experience was very pleasant with chirp of birds. The rooms were spacious with both western and Indian commodes and kept very clean. We had most memorable and fantabulous experience at Bethel Homestay. I am waiting my next visit to Bethel. I highly recommend that it is really worth visiting this place no matter whether you want to do trekking, river rafting or relaxation. Best Experience : Food, Early Morning trekking within the resort, Enjoyable nature, Stream close to the resort. Worst experience : None.
It was my fourth stay at Bethel. Would describe it as a camp that has more nature than you can expect. As kids we always wanted to camp outside and had few places that we could go to. Well, Bethel is something that has been created for us and if you want to be in company of nature you just need to call Rakesh and have couple of alternate dates handy as its always full, tell him 'saar swalpa adjust madi plzzz' and Rakesh will accommodate and will not disappoint. Bethel should be experienced and not described in detail as one would otherwise miss the excitement. However as I call it a camp thus it has everything that one would need with abundance of nature tucked away into a Hill slope with a breathless view of brahmagiri Hill range, endless chirping of birds through out the day, and as day sets in, its silence and you hear water flow in nearby river (must visit and take a dip), of course now you can also hear sounds of cricket an occasional gun shot at a distance, oh Some one just shot a wild boar or scared a wild animal away in near by plantations. You need to trek the Estate and you will not go to a gym again (lol). That's enough I guess. You need something to munch away as you will need to keep your engine running. Was pampered with a good spread of Breakfast, Lunch and dinner. Of course never ending hot pakodas that went perfect with my Peter Scot (Whisky) switched to Hercules Deluxe (Rum) the next day as Bheem Singh (chef from Himalayas) never stopped the fire and perfectly suited the chill. So Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks on call is what you get to be with nature and ohhh no dieting and calculating calories reason you will burn it out in an hour :). So Friends be with nature, refresh, recharge at Bethel Home Stay and get back to your respective routine to come back again for a refuel at no frills genuine nature camp. Rakesh has handcrafted this camp for you.
This was a really impressive resort. We stayed 3 nights, received first class service throughout our stay!!! It took us such a long time to decide for this resort as there are so many to choose from in Coorg, but I'm glad we did the right one... The reviews weren't lying!!! Super rooms, pretty trees all around, it's not a huge property by any means, so you really get looked after. Very hospitable and amiable host Mr. Rakesh thanks to him, our stay was well planned out and made good use of time I sincerely wished we could have stayed longer, he provides a wide range of food and snacks throughout the day which is always fresh, hot and tasty; it is hard to believe that one can get such variety and taste food in such a location, but I guess that's Rakesh for you; from the time we started till we landed he guided us over the phone throughout the route, at Kutta, his person, Manju was ready to pick us up even though we were delayed, one must not miss out on the white water rafting which is an experience of a lifetime it is very safe, led by well trained guides and worth every buck, also the location is wonderful amidst forests.. More over I celebrated my birthday along with my stay, Rakesh arranged KESARI CAKE which was new for all of us, just loved the whole experience it is really worth visiting this place. I highly recommend Bethel Home Stay.
we have been on a 4 day trip to coorg. Mr. Rakesh, a true entrepreneur, arranged the whole trip for us from pickup at Mysore to his homestay and back. The most amazing part is his personal touch to the guests has made the stay awesome. He even accompanied us to the trek in his area which is 44 acres, the bambunji river, even to a wild safari. and let's not forget he is a good spotter too, which helping us in seeing deers, bison, elephant, boars, wild dogs etc. let's come to the food being served....words fall short of praising the menu and sumptuous food...kebabs, onion pakoda, chilli pakoda, paneer pakoda, gulab jamun, payasam are few of the starters...lunch & dinner includes chinese, north indian, south indian and even some coorgi special items.....the tree house where we stayed was an awesome experience alltogether with the hut swaying to the tunes of the wind and mind it, it's having an english toilet...the rustic finish alltogether has made the stay in the forest an amazing experience alltogether. In the evenings you can find yourself humming or dancing around the bonfire..in the absence of electrical gadgets one cannot feel boredom setting in. Last but not the least, should not forget to mention about Kurkule and Blacky, who are basically the heart of the homestay....they are such adorable beings that I was virtually in tears on my way back to Chennai....Long live Kurkule & Blacky and may god bless u both..
I stayed for 3 days at the Bethel home stay with my extended family. We were a total 23 people. The group ranged from age 7 to 78 and there was something for everyone. The stay was really nice and so was the staff, in the end I was almost sorry to leave. Upon arriving I found myself in a valley of Bramahagiri with very scenic views, and a lovely monsoon kept playing hide and seek with us for whole 3 days. The kids in our group enjoyed the food, weather, and the nature. They could always be found on the macchan looking for better views and they even built their own dam at a nearby stream. The owner of the property, Mr. Rakesh is a very friendly and customer centric person. He was very caring towards kids and took every opportunity to guide them & teach them about nature. He personally accompanied us on our trekking and rafting activities which was too generous. The rooms (Bamboo Cottages) were clean and spacious. The bathroom was also spacious and very clean. I stayed in the tree house with my wife and couldn’t contain my surprise when I saw an attached western toilet in the tree house. The food was lovely, very rich and tasty breakfast, I loved scrambled mushroom omelette. The sweet dishes after dinner were also fantastic. Since I was on trekking/rafting holiday I had planned on losing some weight, but with each dinner I’m sure I did quite the opposite. I have been visiting Coorg from the past 12 years and stayed at almost all kind of properties. This, by far was my best experience. My hearty congratulations to the management for their choice of personnel. They know how to really make you feel at home, and if you need anything it is like asking a family member. Way to go, guys, you were fantastic.
