On my holiday trip I visited Madikeri with my family in May 2017. I reserved my stay in Easy holidays. The location of the hotel was good as it was having sightseeing places near to bus station and railway station and near to the city. We reached the hotel by vehicle arranged by the travel agency. There was no parking facility. The overall appearance of the hotel was fine and good. The front desk of the hotel was good at service without delay. The overall service in the hotel was very good. The room was very good well maintained bedding was good bathroom was clean hot and cold water was supplied. The food in the hotel was good but the quantity of the breakfast was very less. I am not satisfied with the food in the Madikeri. There were no other activities in the hotel.
We stayed in Bgrows Farm Stay in Madikeri. It was just 8 kms. Away situated amongst coffee plantations in a typical village with water stream, huge water tank were we had coracle ride. We played volley ball, football, shuttle and night enjoyed camp fire with music till late night. Hosts supplied fantastic homely food prepared in their own kitchen. Attendant was very cooperative, prepared coffee in our kitchen for us. Ideal for groups or teams. Also very economical Next day we had trekking were we could know much about forest, but got tired at the end and returned by jeep.
This was my holiday trip. I traveled Madikeri. I went there in the month of June 2017 along with my family. I booked this hotel through online. I am basically from Mumbai. The location of the hotel was very lovely. It was easy to access. I reached there through my own vehicle. There was free parking facility. The appearance of the hotel was very nice. The interior and exterior look of the hotel was well maintained. The front desk was excellent. The staff was polite and humble. The food was superb. I had vegetarian and non vegetarian food. It was tasty. I took room service for food. The room was wonderful. I booked an AC room. Overall services were excellent. The activities were good. There were no other entertainment amenities. Overall this hotel stay was wonderful.
The experience at this hotel was good. But the food was not good. They served the same dish for dinner and breakfast the next morning. Hotel was around two kilometres from the bus stand. The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed there at the hotel only at night so we did not interact much with the staff. We were out the whole day. The interiors are okay and the rooms were clean. All the amenities were working fine. There was no view from the room because it was a residential area. We hired taxi on our own for sightseeing. The destination was very good. My suggestion is that they need to improve the food. It was a family outing.
Okay first of all Madikeri doesn't have a lot of good hotel options so me and my friend chose a home stay I. E, a popular and convenient option there. It was my first stay at a home stay and it was different but comfortable. Of course you cannot expect professional service like a hotel in a home stay but it was homely. As our bus from Bangalore was reaching early morning, so we contacted the hotel on previous night for early check-in and the guy on phone clearly said no, as check-in time in this home stay is 2 pm and check-out time is 11 am. So we planned our travel accordingly, and by the time we reach Madikeri at 5am we left for this beautiful place called Mandalpatti and abbey falls. Mandalpatti is an awesome place with a spectacular view of sunrise. So I strongly prefer every traveller to reach there before sunrise because otherwise you'll gonna miss the real beauty of this place. Now after we came back from Mandalpatti and abbey falls around 8. 30 we go for this local temple Omkareshwar temple. After that we had our breakfast at a local place which was very tasty. After That we again called our home stay for early check-in and this time some other guy picked and he asked us our location and personally came to pick us. Now Bgrows home stay was a decent property with a feel of these hilly villas that I personally love very much, it reminds me of my childhood days spent in Dehradun and Mussoorie. The room and bathroom was spacious and clean. It had basic facilities like LCD, dining table, geyser in bathroom. There was also a common kitchen and living area in the property which we didn't use. But if someone is going for a long or family stay than they can be very useful. We had two meals in our package 1 breakfast which we did next morning and 1 of either lunch or dinner. So we chose to have lunch. Which we are given on terrace watching beautiful view of Coorg valley. Food was a very homely meal from South India. Sambhar, rasam, rice, dal, poori and 1 curry. It was nothing spacial but you can experience the cuisine and taste of homely food in Coorg in that meal. In the evening we left for watching sunset at Raja Seat. Which was again a very beautiful scenic place. After roaming markets and having dinner at a nice place called Raintree. We reached our hotel around 10. 30 pm. This place Raintree is a very nice and popular restaurant in Coorg. They provide a wide range of coffees which you'll not get easily on other places. Food was also decent. After we reached hotel, the guy from hotel came in our room for asking our preference for breakfast between poori and dosa. So we chose poori this time. We wanted to have it very early in morning because we want to leave for Talcauvery but he requested so we settled for 8. 30. Breakfast was also average, he served poori with coconut chutney and dry potato which was actually stuffing of masala dosa. And filter coffee, which is a blessing in South India. So we had our breakfast and check-out after that. They charged us for a mineral water bottle which was actually mentioned in facilities but never mind it was just Rs. So overall it was a small and comfortable stay at home stay. And Coorg is a must visit place full of green lushes and mountains. And experiencing the birth place of Cauvery river in middle of mountains was both holy and beautiful. There was a cliff for which you need to climb around 300 stairs is a must go as it provides a 360 degree view of Bramhagiri hills.
