Bryant Park, a botanical garden, is situated on the eastern side of 'The Lake'. Conceived and landscaped in 1980 by a British Army Officer, Glenn Bryant. At this botanical garden, every year in the month of May, an annual flower and vegetable show is organised. In addition, it is one of the most visited attractions during the summer months. The garden also houses a glasshouse, which comprises a wide assortment of flowers, ferns and other ornamental plants.

"Not that good!"

  • 3.0/7
  • Posted Sep 21, 2017
It is just a place for picnic spot, kids and couples.
Not much sightseeing there or any view of Kodaikanal. So didn't like much.
It is nearby to Kodaikanal lake.
One can find shops for buying chocolates in that area.

Good collection of plants, flowers etc. You can amble around the park taking pictures and of course there are botanical names which if you are interested could be great to note.

"Not much improving"

  • 3.0/7
  • Posted Nov 19, 2016
Visited 14 years back and very little work has been done to make the garden nicer. Apart from the crowd taking selfies and posing like bolliwood stars, very little to admire.
On the positive side they sell plants very cheap and good. There isn't much more to say

"A tsunami of flowers and a riot of colours!"

  • 6.5/7
  • Posted Jul 27, 2016
This is one of the most popular and must visit botanical garden of Kodaikanal. Interestingly, it is named after the famous park in the US by the same name which is 906 acres privately managed Public Park located in the Manhattan of New York city. The Kodai Bryants Park is really huge and wide with a spread of 20. 5 acres which is visited by thousands of people, everyday. It is located just beside the very beautiful Kodai Lake and a walk around the same is a memorable experience in itself. The park has huge, clean lawns perfect for some quality time with kids and family. The best part of the park is you get to explore and enjoy a riot of colours, shape and size, thanks it its numerous seasonal flowers all year round because of its temperate weather conditions. It has 350 types of trees, shrub and cacti along with a mind blowing 740 types of beautiful rose. You also get to see a good variety of dahlia, zinnia, phlox, aster, gerbera and many more. The park also has large sit out areas on open grass but thankfully under the cool shade of big trees, which is ideal for family time. You can cover the park in about two hours however, highly recommended for a detailed walk around which can easily take 4-6 hours for a complete exploration and enjoyment. Entry Paid: rupees 30 per person and rupees 50 for camera. Open 7am to 7pm

It's a known public attraction place at Kodaikanal. All varieties of flowers are found here. So if you are a nature lover and fond of photography you could be here. Various kinds of horticulture shows are organised here.

"A good picnic spot"

  • 5.0/7
  • Posted Jan 8, 2016
Bryant Park should not be listed as a tourist attraction, IMO, or even a Botanical Garden. It's a humble park, very, very green and beautiful. But it's jaw-droppingly spectacular. I loved the place because you can take leisurely strolls through it and the sloping gardens are a lovely sight.

There's a greenhouse in one of the corners and here you can see a wide variety of plants and shrubs, arranged in rows.

It's the kind of place you go for a family picnic or a place where you can spend a lot of time doing nothing. Visit if you are on a lazy holiday, skip if on some kinda tight schedule.
