About Bushy Dam
Located about 6 km outside Lonavala, Bushy Dam is one of the most popular tourist spots in the state of Maharashtra.
This small dam nestled in the forests attracts a large number of people all year round and more so in the monsoon months. During monsoons, the water running over the steps of the dam creates a thrilling waterfall. On the weekends of the monsoon months one can usually spot several tourists sitting on the steps, as the water from the Bushy Dam flows over them.
A thing you might want to keep in mind, however, is that the water level and the force of the water often tends to rise suddenly and without much warning, which basically means you shouldnt be too reckless around the dam and as a law, no swimming is allowed in the premises.
An increasingly popular picnic spot, you will never fail to see teeming crowds of families and children out for a picnic at the Bushy Dam. The dam and the seasonal waterfall make for the perfect setting for a nice Sunday afternoon picnic, with your favourite sandwiches, drinks and above all, your favourite people. After a week of long hours at office, this is a nice place to just get away from it all!
