Café Shillong Bed and Breakfast, Shillong
31, Lower Lachumiere, Shillong, Meghalaya 793001
It's a lovely place to stay in Shillong despite the fact that it does not have a legitimate eatery. Simple feel with roomy rooms. I possessed a suite which ended up being a vast room with excellent insides and a little yet tastefully finished drawing room which gave the inclination of staying at home. The entertainer was especially exceptionally pleasant and elegant. Breakfast was likewise plain in spite of the fact that decisions were limited. But the best was the bolster staff who were extremely useful and agreeable, particularly Manisha who dealt with every one of our solicitations with lowliness. The little garden in the frontal bit is useful for the children. The region is tranquil and quiet and the not very many shops close-by close early night. That may trouble you on the off chance that you want to stroll around late night. There is a delightful little garden in front with a little yard. I delighted in every snippet of my sit tight. Neighborhood is calm and quiet and you won't locate any business put inside of strolling separation. Parking spot for huge vehicle may be an issue however the staff are useful to mastermind stopping in the little parcel.
The stay in Shillong was to explore the city and cafe Shillong was at the perfect location. Away from the noisy center of police bazaar but yet close enough to walk there whenever you feel like. The rooms are extremely well kept with a mini bar, large led TV and a dth connection. The breakfast is a good spread of Indian and continental. Since its a b and b lunch and dinner is not served but you can order from their own restaurant which goes by the same name. While i was there the restaurant used to shut early due to a road block imposed every evening so we had to order as early as 6.30 in the evening. Thankfully there is a microwave so you can heat up the food if you are a late eater. The in house host ratneshwar takes good care of the guests helping them to arrange car for local sightseeing. There are no restaurants close by so you have to rely on cafe Shillong for your dinner.
At the end of a 12 day trip of Tawang - Kaziranga - Meghalaya, we decided to spend the last couple of nights in a luxury hotel of Shillong. Cafe Shillong was well rated everywhere and we booked it. The pros of the hotel are clean and comfortable hotel. In a nice part of the town, making it possible to walk safely to Don Bosco Square. The porch just outside the hotel was a nice and comfortable space to sit in the evening or dawn. The lady who was serving breakfast was really pleasant. However, the cons of the hotel are the room we got was the one which was actually a hall converted into a room, resulting in no privacy! The glass on the doors was not even frosted - so every passer-by could peep in (and did! ). Since, it was originally the central hall (i.e, the first room that you come up to on entering the premise) there were a lot many peepers, till we taped the curtains to the wall! The other rooms did not have this problem. A couple of fixtures in the room were non functional and we had to request to get them fixed. People who are driving by themselves might find it difficult to mannage their car to enter the hotel especially if its a big car. Also, we had expected the hotel to have a beautiful view which it opens into. However, none of the 4 rooms that the hotel had a view worth mentioning. Their food menu is from the Cafe Shillong chain - food is good. Overall, homely but nothing that will specifically make me recommend the place.
Don't miss to stay here in Shillong. Location, Amenities, Staffing, Breakfast all are very good. Moreover a homely environment you will get. The care taker is a very nice and helpful person. Location is also very good. Every thing is within walking distance. Quality of Complimentary breakfast is also good and behavior of caretaker was excellent.
Stayed there for one night. But must say they really welcome you well. We didn't have food over there. But they do arrange the food for you if you order in advance. The behaviour of the manager here is very nice and supportive. The problem here is for vegetarian food, you don't get veg food easily.
