Camp Noel, Munnar
Pazhathottam Koviloor P.O Munnar
Was travelling across Kerala with 3 french friends and stayed in this place for day ... We were welcomed by the guy with a warm smile ... Whom I came to know later was Anoop ... The check in process was fast ,,, Once we settled in the room we were very happy ... It was jus perfect ... By the time we freshened up the food was ready ... I had my doubts about the food ... But when I took my first bite I was all cleared ... It was delishious ... Further more the expression of friends jus made it very clear ... They were clearly enjoying the food ... We reached the place jus after the holidays ... So the place was almost like completely to ourselves ... Which jus made the experience a lot more better ... The french who were new to carroms were given a good tutorial in it till late in night ... It was raining and made the climate jus too good ... There was rumor already that there will be a strike the next day ... It got confirmed by late night ... We were kind of stranded there ... Anoop insisted that we stayed there till the strike was over and though the check out time was in noon he extended it to the evening so that we are not affected ... We all had a good nights sleep and in the morning had a great breakfast ... We didn knw wot to do so a little late in the morning tried going out but the main road was blocked ... So we came back inside and enjoyed the beauty of the place. In the evening we checked out and it was very hard to leave the place ... Am surely going back there for a few days Now about a few things * The drive to the place is amazing as far as I see ... If you travel in the evening it will be just fun ... GOOD THINGS should not BE EASY TO REACH ... Jus my thought * Anoop was extremely nice to us .. He was always there to make sure that things were jus perfect * The guys in the kitchen were jus very courteous and they cook well too * I got a good offer from one of the sites for the stay and the food bill was also not too expensive ** You don have network except for bsnl but there is land line to make urgent calls .. WiFi is available near reception BUT MY PERSONAL OPINION IS THINK THAT you WENT BACK IN TIME AND ENJOY THE PLACE AND STAY OFF THE TECH STUFF you will surely come back refreshed and full of aura * If you staying this place plan accordingly so that you have one whole day to be lazy inside the resort and have a good time ... Thanks to the people @ Camp Noel for an amazing day in Munnar And Happy Stay for all the people going there .. You will surely have a good time
My purpose of vacation was to relax and find myself back. Camp Noel is an escapade away from the hustle bustle of city in the lap of mother nature. The experience and memories we had there will be treasured for a lifetime. The cottages are surrounded by pristine green woods, tea gardens, hills and clouds. The only sound you will get to hear is the chirping of birds or the thundering of clouds. The first thing I used to do after getting up in the morning was to sit or lie down on that big green lawn right in front of my cottage to be kissed by the cool morning mist and the soothing warm sunshine. The location is the major point why one should plan for a vacation here. The cottages are big enough to accommodate two families, privacy has not been compromised, the rooms are well maintained and clean, and the service is fast and good. We had some plumbing problem in the cottage initially provided to us but once they were informed about it, in no time we were shifted to the next cottage. Must say the hospitality is very warm. There is no cell phone network or a T.V in the rooms here which I feel gives you the space and let you spend time with yourself. We enjoyed the cold evenings and nights by sitting in front of the fireplace with some delicious appetizers. No doubt the food tastes great but menu I felt was a little limited. Probably they can add more variety to give their guests more options. Also the road from the main city to the resort is not in good condition. Although they always provide their car to guide or take you to the main city, still driving in the dark is not advisable. Overall we had a great stay here and very strongly recommend this resort.
We (a family of 4 adults and 3 kids) had the privilege of enjoying 3 days and 2 nights at Camp Noel. It was a refreshing and soothing experience. Cottages in European architecture were a revelation. It's on a remote hill mostly occupied by vegetable farmers. The hill is surrounded by hills all around. It's located around 10 km from top station Munnar. The staff was courteous. They took us to meadow kind of area on top of that hill which was awesome. The resort campus is well maintained with flowers and lawns all around. Cottages have at least 10 meter distance with each other which give good privacy for you. The cottages are supplied with electric kettle, milk powder, teabag, coffee powder, sugar sachet etc which found good. We were able to visit farms and buy fruits and vegetables. Overall it's a nice place relax away from world. Points to note: Only bsnl mobile works. When there is no power in the area, mobile and landlines won't work. There are no shops in few kilometre vicinity. Bison's might come to resort lawn at night. We saw a bunch of them en-route too. You should let them know the food preferences at the earliest so that they can get provisions from Munnar town which around 2 kilometres away.
Our first anniversary celebrations were magical and pure bliss. Kudos to Camp Noel and their staff. This place is for people who want to spend quality time with each other amidst pure nature. The place is nestled in lush greenery all around with magnificent view of the mountains. Though last 30 min is a bumpy ride, but the place more than makes for this. All the cottages are excellent and equipped with a kitchenette and a fire place. There are no TV's and no mobile signals (just the way we would like an ideal escapade to be). The views surrounding the property are heavenly to say the least......calm, pristine and relaxing....The day goes by leisurely and you can rejuvenate yourselves in pristine nature. The staff is very helpful and courteous. They arranged for a private candle light dinner on the property lawns which was an out of the world experience on a moon filled starry night. Food at this place is good..... Will recommend all couples to savour this place at least once.....
I have been to Camp Noel with my better half. Our first trip, just one day after marriage. It was during January 2015, when the climate was really chilling. My best friend had suggested this place as he too had a wonderful time. It was a short trip, but still both of us enjoyed the stay at Camp Noel. The cottages over there were amazing, well-maintained and looks pretty with chimneys. The place is really calm. The services were good. Food was descent served in the cottage on time. Candle light dinner was arranged well, Honeymoon special cake, flower arrangements were done properly and the fruit basket were served as mentioned in the itinerary. Soups are not good. Hot water was available even though climate was chilling outside. The mobile networks were poor. So staffs helped us to connect with our family. They are really supportive. Site seeing was offered on the second day, but unfortunately we could not make use of it as I was down with fever. It a little far away from the town so you may find it a bit tiring (1. 5 hrs from town) but at the same time interesting as you have to travel through the forest. Mostly all networks are bad, except for BSNL. I would like to stay at Camp Noel again. Next time I will definitely go for sightseeing which I missed last time. May be I will try a different cottage. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. No disturbances, calm and quiet place, it will be a right choice if you would like spend some days with your family.
