Candolim Beach food, sight-seeing and shopping options
Besides the beach you can do some serious shopping. Super Tailors will make you a suit or a dress in a couple of days and boutiques like Glimpses of India have up market leather goods, clothes and housewares at good prices There are dozens of jewellers that, if they haven't got what you want, will make it for you. You should take a taxi to the Wednesday market at Anjuna to do some serious haggling and bring back bargains of every description. After 7 is a wonderful restaurant in the garden of the owner's mansion. His camembert souffle is to die for! The Mermaid is run by a Goan/Swedish couple and their food is a delicious mix of the Goan and traditional.

Hotel Review of Highland Beach Resort
Comments: The resort charges Rs2500/night with BB for a double room. I have seen at least 4-5 families having problems with the bookings. When I checked in there was no light in toilet, bedroom light not working, TV not working and a very unclean room. No service if you do not escalate to the duty manager. Quite a lot of walk to the beach. Its a bad place for a vacation.

Highland resort does not offer much as its not on beach side but have good rooms but lacks on serivce parts, food wise its ok nothing special....
