Candolim Beach food, sight-seeing and shopping options
Besides the beach you can do some serious shopping. Super Tailors will make you a suit or a dress in a couple of days and boutiques like Glimpses of India have up market leather goods, clothes and housewares at good prices
There are dozens of jewellers that, if they haven't got what you want, will make it for you.
You should take a taxi to the Wednesday market at Anjuna to do some serious haggling and bring back bargains of every description.
After 7 is a wonderful restaurant in the garden of the owner's mansion. His camembert souffle is to die for! The Mermaid is run by a Goan/Swedish couple and their food is a delicious mix of the Goan and traditional.

Hotel Review of Sonesta Inns
Comments: we decided on sonesta only thro' holidayiq, nobody known to us had ever heard of it. We were a bit anxious when we couldnt locate the place even after being frequent visitors to the region. There is no board indicating the site of the hotel anywhere! well but the hunt was worth the time, the place was exactly as we wanted. Reasonably large property, a tidy pool, well mentained garden, small yet clean and comfortable suit on the ground floor. The place is full of palm trees, a rare in calangute, candolim area. A peaceful place close to happening region of goa.Perfect for families, not much activity though. Food is decent, service is slower but meticulous. The presence of a lot of europians has kept the place clean, its a plus point, so what if they get preference! Overall a real value for money
Best Experience: Early morning coffee and the late night chat in the poolside balcony is so peaceful, its difficult to believe that one is so close to calangute and baga. The same applies to the beach, clean deserted golden sand in the walking distance from calangute and fort aguada.
Worst Experience: Nothing worst but for the downside, dont expect a courteous hallo from any of the efficiant staff!

Hotel Review of Sonesta Inns
Sonesta Inns is a quaint place in a corner of Condolium. It is quiet economical compared to other resorts, value for money if you are looking for place which is in middle of goa's hub & still calm, with a clean beach nearby. It is nearby to all the activity one can do in Goa, like pubs, shacks, shopping, all the water sports. It is mostly for foreigners who come in herds. In fact in March we were the only...
