Candolim Beach food, sight-seeing and shopping options
Besides the beach you can do some serious shopping. Super Tailors will make you a suit or a dress in a couple of days and boutiques like Glimpses of India have up market leather goods, clothes and housewares at good prices There are dozens of jewellers that, if they haven't got what you want, will make it for you. You should take a taxi to the Wednesday market at Anjuna to do some serious haggling and bring back bargains of every description. After 7 is a wonderful restaurant in the garden of the owner's mansion. His camembert souffle is to die for! The Mermaid is run by a Goan/Swedish couple and their food is a delicious mix of the Goan and traditional.

Hotel Review of Whispering Palms Beach Resort
Comments: I went to Goa in the month of November 2007. Its a beautiful place where you can enjoy to the fullest. I was told about goa by my friends that its not the place to visit with your family but on the contrary I found it the best place to enjoy with your family. In Goa i stayed at the WPR. It's a good resort with excellent rooms. I occupied Classic room which i found very well decorated & spacious. The overall service given by the hotel staff was good. I also found the site of the resort very good as it is centrally located in the North GOA from where you can easily go to other places.
Best Experience: When I stayed there the Hotel had organised a Dance Party along its pool. Wish I and I think everybody enjoyed.
Worst Experience: I booked my room from the website of this resort. when I reached there they gave me not so good room but when i contacted its staff they shifted me to other room. But I think the hassle could have been avoided.

Hotel Review of Whispering Palms Beach Resort
For the amount we paid, the hotel was a disappointment. Rooms were OK but small. We had paid for the room with extra bed in advance but we had to remind the staff several times to put up the extra bed. It was 11.30 PM when they finally brought the bed, by which time our children were fast asleep. The reason quoted was 'Shortage of Staff' !! Swimming pool though was very clean and enjoyable. Staff was indifferent, especially in...

Hotel Review of Whispering Palms Beach Resort
Overall the stay was disappointing. Having seen the reviews I realised that this resort is overrated. It caters to largely people who just need a room to spend a few nights. It is not a resort but an Inn....

Hotel Review of Whispering Palms Beach Resort
The most appreciating fact in the case of this resort is the overall behaviour and hospitality of its staff members. The interiors of the resort are excellently maintained and ever refreshing. We were really feeling very sad while checking out of the resort after a stay of five days from 21/1/2007 to 25/1/2007....

Hotel Review of Whispering Palms Beach Resort
It was a fun filled and memorable 4 days at whispering palms Goa. The staff is friendly, prompt and do the extra little to see that you are having a great time. It is located just 5 minutes by walk from the nearest beach, which offers a splendid view of an abandoned ship. The picturesque Fort Aguada is also nearby. Also, we found good eat outs, coffee houses, handicraft showrooms nearby. I would rate this very high in terms of...

Hotel Review of Whispering Palms Beach Resort
The resort (more like a motel) is about 250m from the beach, which is deserted and the view blocked by a huge ship wrecked on the beach itself. This info is not shared by the staff while making the booking over the phone. Overall, our experience was below average. Its probably good for college kids looking for a cheap stay, but definitely a no-no for families with small kids....
