A place; one must visit atleast once. Very nice place in the bank of river kaveri. Once you visit, you will never forget this place in your life time. I live in Delhi and often visit this place to relax and stay near nature in a healthy atmosphere. A little bit far from Mysore but it is better when you want to stay in relaxed mood in healthy atmosphere.
This is a stay arranged in a Kanya gurukulam where girls are taught upto graduation free of cost. The place is quite and abutting the paschima vahini of Cauvery river. The approach is a little deep and reaching without own transport may be difficult. But once you are there everything is taken care of.
Had a wonderful experience at Cauvery Sannidhi Mysore. Its not a resort. Its a Gurukul on the banks of the river cauvery. One of the blocks that they have has been used as homestay or you can call it resort. There are no activities. Its just a place to stay and relax at the banks of Cauvery river. Since its a Gurukulam they provide Veg food only and no alcohol. I bet it wont burn your pockets. They dont run it for commercial purpose but more to support the Gurukulam that they run. I had a very relaxing time with family. There are no activities to be done here. You are either in the room or in Cauvery river.
It has been a long time we haven't taken any break from work and the 4 day extended weekend has given the opportunity to have one. I started my search with the hotels in Mysore but found that the famous ones are in the middle of city, so though to go for one near to mysore. Srirangapattanam was a good choice. Checked the videos of Cauvery Sannidhi Gurukul on youtube and immediately felled in love with the place. Its a Gurukul cum peaceful resort, So you find certain calmness at this place. Entrance was not that great as there was a local sugarcane processing unit (not industry) and there was some smell around that. But once you enter into the Gurukul premises, its gone and you the fragrance of flower trees takes your mind. Kitchen and Dining area is designed as you saw in old traditional ways which is remarkable. You have normal dining arrangements as well for those who need Table and Chairs. Food is simple as it is prepared at home Don't expect any special cuisine. The resort section is clean and well maintained. Some rooms are river facing and those are gems. A big hall is there were you can sit with friends and family and enjoy. Dont miss the bath in cauvery river which is something you cannot afford to miss. Caretaker Neeraj was awesome. Very humble and prompt to any kind of queries/requests. Tea was very nice, thanks to the ladies from the kitchen. Overall a nice place to relax and feel the peace. Once again, dont expect the luxury of hotel.
I really enjoyed staying there. Hospitality was so honest and a smoothening atmosphere it created enriched my relaxation. We took bath at River Cauvery with a beautiful view. Some peacocks were also there. Its very near to Srirangapatna and to Rangana thittu bird sanctuary. We visited Balamuri falls also. The food was delicious and a Desi look was there. Thank you so much
