Perfect Retreat!

6.1/7
Posted 7 Oct, 2014

Goa is just the ideal place if you are a respired person. It is just equivalent to a foreign tourist spot, within India and within the budget! My first visit and I fell in love with the place and its ambiance; coconut greenery, beautiful beaches, pleasant salty climate, amazing crowd - all adding to romanticism at its best I had my stay in one of the resorts in Baga Beach, called Cavala Sea Resort. The resort was built on the architecture similar to French colonies, with lush green gardens. The rooms were pretty spacious, with needful amenities and a huge open terrace that stretches from your bedroom door to the roadside. I loved the luxury of space and openness the terrace provided. You can pull chairs and have some privacy at the back-side, avoiding the roadside; or you can enjoy sipping down tea watching the crowd outside. The restaurant was charming as well. Though the bar remained in the enclosed area, the restaurant stretched outside in the gardens under the open sky. The sitting arrangement is beautifully done, leaving no room for extra space yet, not clumsily arranged. The complimentary breakfast was sufficient and fulfilling, even though it provide much options - sometimes too many options is a waste, so I enjoyed the limited choices that were tasteful. Another plus for this resort, it will make your Sunday evening special with musicians, bands, singers. The location of this resort is another positive part I felt. Near to the Baga Beach bus-stand, just 5/7mins a walk to reach the beach and shacks, everything you want at your reach, yet it's peaceful and quite - aloof from the humdrum. Goa means party (be it in a group or single, it matter); and for partying it's the shacks! The entire beach or rather all its popular beaches are flocked with Shacks. Grab a beer or any drink of your choice (they have everything on their menu list, in their tiny warehouse) and local fish preparation/salads; and you will be amazed! They offer nothing less than a 5-star hotel preparation. If you are done with beaches, hire a car or a 2-wheeler and spread out your wings to zoom! One of the best roads in India that will give you no reason to complain when you are on a leisure drive. Seek out old forts, churches and virgin beaches - just spectacular. Goa offers you lot of water sports - para sailing to scuba you can have them all, if you are adventurous enough. And if you want to have a relaxed day out, you can have the luxury of foot massage, body massage, nail painting, tattoos etc on the beach itself One of my greatest attractions which push me to visit Goa again is its amazing crowd. You can enjoy amongst people, yet in your own world! It's a mixed crowd with foreign tourists and native ones, and gives you the opportunity to meet people across the borders. Perfect holiday destination for rejuvenation !.

Washroom was very spacious and very good

6.1/7

My overall experience in this hotel was excellent! It was near to the beach and very convenient to travel. Bus stand and railway station were far from the hotel. The people were very courteous. The rooms were very clean. Staff was very much helpful, friendly and hygienic. Services provided were good and very quick. The interior and exterior appearance of the hotel was very good. It was an old and heritage kind of building. The room allotted was neat, clean, spacious and maintained along with a garden. Pillows, bed sheets and blankets were in clean condition. Amenities in the room were working properly. There was no view from the room. Washroom was very spacious and very good. There was no problem in check-in and check-out procedure. There were no activities provided in the hotel. There were limited varieties in veg food but non veg food was good.

Great destination for enjoyment. Location of the resort was very good. Close to Baga beach and titos club. Very good for couples and youngsters. Weekend in-house party was super cool. You get live performance of some good bands . Good sea food. Excellent nightlife. Good rooms. If you are a group opt for the individual villa they have. Make your bookings in advance. Heaven for honeymooners and youngsters .

A lovely Place

6.6/7
Posted 1 Aug, 2015

The room was spotless, in spite of the fact that the sheets were frayed and flimsy. The room was exceptionally interesting however - and enormous! The shower was splendid and beautiful and hot. We had an overhang yet it was concealed because of the storm The inn accompanies a pool - despite the fact that an extremely frustrating pool - again this may be on the grounds that it was off season. The greenery enclosures then again are excellent! Be that as it may, not advanced The breakfast is alright. Would be better if the staff were more energetic. I needed to send the toast back as the cuts were similar to bread garnishes It's a tempting spot all things considered, flawlessly lit and very much introduced We needed to pay for WiFi - which is bothering, and doesn't achieve the rooms. When you're hiking and setting up for the go, WiFi is an unquestionable requirement nowadays We ate dinner on the most recent night in the eatery and it was VERY hot Valued the inviting beverage from the bar however, despite the fact that surmise that was because of our room not being prepared!

We had booked a non-AC suite in Cavala for 2 days...

5.0/7
Posted 9 Jun, 2007

We had booked a non-AC suite in Cavala for 2 days on 30-31 May-07 at Rs 1260/night. I can say that it was extremely good value for money! We were pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the suite which had a large drawing area, a decent bed room and the largest bathroom that I have seen in a hotel! In addition, the whole suite was done up with simple and elegant decorations in the form of art works! The easy chairs were extremely comfortable and a mini-bar with beer, juices and mineral water was nice. It also had a piano and my little daughter had a blast with it! The bed side too was nicely done up and the nice blue tiling in the bath gave a soothing look. Though the beach and sea is not visible from the hotel it is located within 5 minutes' walk from the Baga beach. This is a huge advantage as one can go back and forth from the hotel as many times as one likes. There are watersports in the form of parasailing and water-scooters available for the enthusiasts. Boat rides are also available for the less advanturous. For the rest, there is the beach which provides a good bathing option. It is a gentle slope and one can go our quite a far with water upto the hips. However the water tends to get a bit rough at high-tide. One can also walk along the Baga beach for a mile or so to reach Calangute beach where most of the Indian tourists. Baga beach is one of the favourites for the foreigners with ample accommodation options and quite a few beach shacks. However, for the budget traveller I found the food to be quite expensive. At Cavala, on the flip-side the rooms do not have phones to talk to the reception. So one has to pop out and walk across the corridor to the reception. In addition, the resturant menu has limited options and food is a tad expensive. I guess most of the residents do not eat there. I guess the hotel could do well to expand their menu, particularly to Indian cuisines.

It was Off-season, end of July. Yet decided to go....

5.9/7
Posted 5 Aug, 2007

It was Off-season, end of July. Yet decided to go...assumed we will be the only tourists around. Stayed at Cavala-coz it was close to the famous Baga beach. The rates were inviting. 2 AC Suite'+poolside- cost us 1800 each with breakfast. The hotel did have more occupants. Quaint looking building...which had creepers flowing on the walls outside, gives it a character. The room was a blessing, simple, elegant and spacious. Nothing lavish about the place, but it makes you feel at home and all the basic facilities in the room. Most important the bathroom was neat and clean. The suite is not connected to the main hotel building, but across the road. So total privacy and peaceful. The pool was cleaned everyday. Did notice a person clean and scrub the surrounding for almost half a day. Impressive eh! The breakfast here was good and filling, not a buffet, but a fixed menu. Either English or Indian. Better to stick to English, its Goa, you cant expect them to make the best of aloo paratas and puri bhaji. The omelets are great. I like the way they served fruit on the plate. Split banana with fork & knife! Of course there were other fruits but this one is a killer! Saturday nights- it’s Live Retro Music. We just wandered in around 8pm and were stopped by the inmates saying the tables are booked. We were surprised, its off-season, who' going to be here...and the bookings happened a week in advance!! We still hung around the place hoping somebody would cancel, but no luck. The place filled up in no time.. What crowd. Mostly foreigners. That place was rocking! Sigh. We had to head out in search of a better place for dinner and music. There was a little hic-up during lunch the next day at Cavala. The fish curry wasn't at its best-first taste of it gave us a very sour feeling. Well it definitely was spoilt! We did make a little noise, how can you go wrong with fish curry in Goa. Well the young chef was sweet enough to come around and listen to us and within the next 15 mins we had steaming, most delicious Goan fish curry on our table. Oh we couldn't stop raving about it. And then he sent around the dessert -Bibinca with ice cream....slurp!! Not to miss.

Nice service and rooms

6.3/7
Posted 11 Nov, 2011

Cavala is a perfect place that you\'d be looking to stay at when you go to Goa with an intention to relax and have fun and even party with a limited budget. The resort is about 1-2 minutes walk from Baga Beach, and is located away from the busy market area. This really makes the atmosphere around, quiet and relaxed. Rooms are decent very clean and the tariffs are quite affordable. Staff is good, polite and very friendly just, a little slow but its negligible. The main attraction for all the party animals would be the Friday Night Live Music!! Over all I would definitely recommend this hotel!!

Convenient location and brilliant ambiance

6.8/7
Posted 16 Feb, 2016

The serene Goan ambience of the resort and the excellent staff is not the only reason to stay here. This resort has a restaurant with bar attached to the resort, and oh what a nice restaurant! They have live music 5 days a week, with a virtuous pianist, Mr. Bosco, and retro music, from 60s to 80s. A perfect family resort.
