Hotel Review of Holiday Inn Resort
Comments: The overall experience was very enjoyable and relaxing. The resort is located right on the beach (which is clean, not crowded and not polluted) and is spread out over a large area compared to some others in Goa. The lawns and gardens are well landscaped and extremely well looked after, and the rooms are well spaced out. All units are ground plus one floor.

The swimming pool is quite large with space to lounge around as well. The activity centre has pool, table-tennis, carrom and a wide collection of books to read, but is tucked away in a corner of the resort and not air-conditioned (tends to get uncomfortably hot in summer).

The choice of food is quite wide, including an open air buffet with live music, a beach-side shack, a regular coffee-shop type restaurant and a speciality Chinese/Thai restaurant. The quality of food and choice for both vegetarians and sea-food lovers was very good. The resort gives a 40% discount on food to RCI guests without which the food bill can be very high.

Holiday Inn is more of a hotel and less of a time-share resort so for families with children, the children could get bored because there tend to be very few children among the guest population, and there are not many activities geared towards children other than the swimming pool and activity centre described above.
Best Experience: The resort is maintained to a very high standard and staff are well-trained and extremely helpful, friendly and courteous. They will make special efforts to make you feel at home and go that extra mile if you have special requests or needs.
Worst Experience: We did have a bad experience at check-in which explains the low rating for that category. Some other guest had called to postpone their holiday by 2 days, and the front office did not get the name of the guest right nor did they verify the RCI membership number and attributed the cancellation to us. As a result the airport pick-up we had booked from the hotel did not show up, and after we reached the hotel, we were told that only half the 1 BR that we had booked was available till 2 days later. The front office manager kept insisting that we did not have a valid reservation inspite of having the RCI confirmation in writing which said so. After much aggravation and some unpleasantness, and the intervention of the RCI guest relations manager, we were given the room as per our booking.

It was our first visit to Goa and I must admit it will remain one of the best also. We had a lot of apprehensions when we first entered inside the resort(especially considering the amount we had paid). But as we spent more and more time we realised it was worth every penny we spent. It was a kind of 2nd honeymoon for me and my wife. And I still remember how much we were upset to leave the place...

It has been one of the memorable vacations for me and especially so because of the resort. This resort is especially good for honeymoon couples and those people who want to spend time away from the regular hustle and bustle of the town, which is Panjim. Nice place to be at....
