Hotel Review of Old Anchor
Comments: I've been to Goa hell lot of times...but I alwayz stayed in the North part... this time due to New Year's Eve and unavailability of rooms....we had to stay in South... we reached the hotel after a long long drive in the evening... the hotel was nice and the rooms were pretty decent...the hotel property is quite big an they also have boat rides early in the morning which are fun...the hotel has a terrace resto-bar and a disco....its walking distance from the beach and other 5star hotels.....South Goa is very less crowded than the North part... and you will find rich and classy foreigners out there.... I found the hotel and the beach much more tranquil and clean.....I loved my stay there... SAM

one place where I would just like to be out on Beach. with nature still in its untouched beauty, place is awesome to take long walks or just lie down by the beach side day long. Nearby shacks add to the comfort. Also a good place to do watersports like parasailing, water scooters or ride into the sea on Banana Boats. But all this outside the resort. We went to this resort to enjoy the solitude of South Goa while not losing out on the "fun in the air" life in Goa...Alas, we only got the solitude...That's partly because of resort's location (extreme South Goa, the road on which the resort is loacted, ended after 2 KMs more) and partly because the season of our visit (Mid-August, monsoon season)...If one has to just laze around and do nothing throughout the vacation, this can be a good place...However,...

It was long weekend due to our Independance Day. We reached on Saturday morning and return back by Monday. We was told that Old Anchor is 4 star beach resort and had experienced 3 star resort earlier so we excpet nice and all facility resort will be waiting for us. Went to experience sea beaches after a tryst with mountains (Butan) in our previous trip. We stayed in this resort from 8th to 12th July, during monsoon (before floods!). Earlier I never believed in going for a holiday during rains as movements are a bit restricted, but now I will recommend Goa only during monsoons. We took a 3+1 night package.
