The Chandira Choodeswarar Temple is situated on top of a hill at Hosur. It is situated in the Krishnagiri District of Tamil Nadu and was built by Thirupuvanamalla Barvatharaja Anthiyazhvar of the Hoysala dynasty in the year 1260. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva or Choodeswarar and Goddess Parvati or Goddess Maragadambal.
The temple is also mentioned as Bhadragiri Mahatmiyam in Brahmanda Purana. This religious place has many theerthams including Jambava Theertham, Vrishabha Theertham, Maragatha Sarovaram (Karutmadam), Pandava Theertham, Shivagangai and Hanuma Theertham.. In fact, the whole temple is made with stones and there is a beautifully painted Rajagopuram on top of the prime entrance. Besides, it also has many other shrines of Ganesha, Lord Muruga and Nayanmars along with many other saints.

This is very blissful place, no matter how hot it's outside and you are sweating. The inside architect of temple makes you so cool and peaceful, makes you feel free and good for meditation, this temple was built in 12th century. If you traveling from Tamil Nadu to Bangalore national highway - take a left before Hosur flyover in the Hosur city. You can reach directly to the top of the hill. Magnificent view of Hosur city!
Don't miss the "tamarind rice" (puliyogare) PRASADAM.
