"One time Visit."

I have been there while visiting Nathula Pass. It was not attractive in first look but due to peaceful surroindongs, you like to spend some time. It is very important lake for the locals and carry spiritual property ?. Local people used to drink water for good health and worship this lake.

"Lake at 12000 ft altitude"

Changu lake also called as tsogmo lake. It's one of the prime attractions in Sikkim. From Gangtok the share services are available for going to this place. Rate depends on your bargain capabilities. Sumos are used as the place is a top. If you are not good with mountains travels then you should not go. The route is epic full of thrill and adventure with risks. As the lake comes under military restrictions so a special permission is required for going there, don't need to worry agents are there to help. A beautiful lake with snow mountains surrounding all side. When we went there was snow so snow shoes to be used and yak rides also available.

Hi! This is a pleasant experience travelling to gangtak last November '16. Mr. Anmol was there to guide the whole tour. He is young, smart, very responsible guey. All sets were arranged very well with warmth welcome. A smiling face with caring, helpful hands were always there .. A homely atmosphere. A big thank to Mr. Anmol and I would wish to recommend him if any body is going there for a wel planned tour to gangtak. His contact number is 8101216161. You can also mail him to anmol. Sikkim19@gmail. Com. You may contact him for suggestions and guidance for sikkim ..

"Dont miss it"

Very good place - It's beauty is like Kashmir in Sikkim.

Do hire boots check it twice if its torn, or better buy one pair.

Do the Yak riding, I will prefer on foot enjoying the beauty and roaming around.

Biggest drawback - I don't understand why sikkim govt. Is trying to make man made buildings and structures around lake. Its like bad dirty patch in premises.

Changu Lake is one of the most beautiful location that I have ever visited to. You will surely bump into jawans as Changu Lake is located a few kilometres away from the Nathula Border. The best time to visit this place is April-June.

"A memory that will always stay"

This is a place I did never forget. My wife and I were staying at Rhenock House, Gangtok. On the third day of our stay we had planned a trip to Tsongo or Change Lake. When I heard it was a lake, I wasn't too excited. But a few minutes into the drive and I knew it was a place to visit again. As you drive uphill, the weather changes instantly, and you are literally up in the clouds. At Changu Lake there was ice. The one thing I will never forget is a Yak ride, it's a bit expensive thankfully we had the cash to pay. If you don't have cash ready there's no way you did be same to take that ride. The terrain doesn't permit ATMs. There's paperwork involved before you can visit this beautiful place, but it's absolutely worth it. A must try. Just ask a local guide and they will be able to help you with logistics.

"Fun and beauty in one package"

  • 5.0/7

I've been to this place for like 5-6 times (people think I am insane, but it's okay). I remember the first time when we were allowed to got into the lake while it was entirely frozen. But after that one time, I never saw anyone doing that anymore. I don't know what is matter! But still it is a very good place for some fun and yeah if you are visiting this place during December or January and if the place is extremely cold then don't forget to try some steamy maggi and boiled egg from those roadside shops.

"Splendid Experience"

  • 7.0/7

35 kms away from Gangtok, the lake is at an altitude of 12400 ft. The scenic beauty is splendid. The lake is named as Tsomgo Lake, which remains frozen in winter I had visited in April, but because of rainfall in the area for couple of days we got the lake frozen.

"Beautiful and most pleasing place"

  • 7.0/7

This lake situated eastern Himalayas. The weather one or two degree very cold in winter. Trout fish in the lake, very beautiful view, nothing available in this place. This is way to Baba Mandir. From sea level 12400 feet. Most of the area Army people camp's and their offices. No network in the whole place. We should salute the Army people, they live a difficult life for the nation.
