Chapora Fort, one of the famous attractions, is located on the Anjuna Beach in Goa. The fort was constructed by the ruler of Bijapur, Adil Shah. It was built to keep an eye on the Hindu raiders who wanted to establish their territory in Goa.
Around 1617, the Portuguese were ruling over the fort. After their rule, the fort was not occupied by any other ruler. The fort stands on an area with an irregular outer plan and has steep slopes on all sides.
Built of red laterite stones, the fort attracts a lot of travellers. Travellers can view the Vagator Beach and the Anjuna Beach from the fort. To reach the fort, travellers can opt for buses and taxis.
