My friend invited me to this resort. One of the beautiful yet small hotel in Wayanad. We stayed at Cliff Villa. I wasn't sure what to expect when I first called up Chateau Woods to make my bookings. The booking was a pretty smooth process. You call them up, request your room type and they send you a payment link, if booking is confirmed. The place was heavenly overlooking the 'BEAUTIFUL' tea estates and mountains. The room was amazing with a balcony which brings you a splendid view of mountains. The property itself was nice and aesthetically built. Looks like a huge bungalow, now a hotel, although I understand that the property was built as a five room boutique hotel. The staff was very good, nice and friendly. The cook was exceptional and you could tell them if you wanted to taste specific local delicacies. We just were mesmerized with the Kerala authentic veg cuisine that we never asked for anything more. We also braved an offloading trip that the hotel arranged and were totally shaken by the end of it, but enjoyed it as well. Beware of leeches sticking on to you if you venture out of the jeep during the offloading trip; just let your offloading guide know and they will use a spray to get rid of the insects; no need to panic even if bitten. It's pretty common out there. I understand that there are beautiful waterfalls that you can trek to and also drive down to some popular ones. We preferred staying indoors, beside the off-roading, as it was raining non stop. The resort has lots of insects that will be flying around, especially after dark, but most likely won't bother you much, considering I am scared of insects, I managed to enjoy the cool evenings. You can have a nice walk within the property estate and that itself could be refreshing . . Overall, a wonderful place to spend time. It's a great place to take a break and do nothing but walk in the clouds, trek, off road, sit back and watch the mountains getting covered with clouds one minute and revealing the next.
We are a happy family of 3, but travelling is a huge project with our 2-year old toddler. As such, we restrict ourselves to 6-hour radius drives from Bangalore. It was with trepidation that I booked Chateau woods for our rare family vacation. Since I have already visited Wayanad before, I wasn't expecting anything fresh from the trip, but thanks to Chateau woods, I was proven wrong and how! This property is not your run-of-the-mill hotel/resort. Nestled in the midst of a tea estate, it reminds you of the colonial Saheb, waking up to beautiful vistas of workers plucking tea leaves right from your balcony. The location of the property guarantees no disturbance from traffic or loud market noises. It is the perfect place to reconnect with your loved ones (not over phone, airtel signal did not reach there. A blessing! ). The resort offers a lot of simple activities like fishing, snooker, table tennis, and not to forget the animals at the beginning of the resort. My daughter simply loved feeding leaves to rabbits and goats, and seeds to hens and other birds there. Since we like to keep off the regular touristy places (which tend to be crowded) it turned out to be the best possible decision to stay at Chateau Woods, since we could do so much in the resort itself. The presidential suite is ideal for bigger families as it has 2 huge bedrooms and an attached Jacuzzi. Since all other rooms were booked at the time I made my booking, I had to go for this room, the attached Jacuzzi made the extra charge worth it. Relaxing on the terrace with snacks and drinks and our daughter happily splashing around in the Jacuzzi, made for a tranquil yet fulfilling experience. The staff is very helpful specially to the needs of babies and made our stay very comfortable. We plan to visit Chateau Woods again with our parents next year, and you guessed it, we will book the Presidential Suite again :). Overall, it was still a 5 star experience.
Stayed with family April 2016. We were apprehensive about how hot it will be but were greeted with showers and the weather was extremely pleasant Chateau woods is perched on top of a hill in the midst of tea estates. We stayed in the presidential suite with Jacuzzi. The room is very spacious with a beautiful view especially at sunset and very comfortable and ideal for families. The resort itself is a bungalow with suites at upper levels and dining and reception at ground floor The staff are very courteous, the food however was average and has a different taste to it. Fish was very well prepared. All items are pretty expensive, service is good and there is a nice pond in the property for fishing. The kids had a great time there as also with the Jacuzzi The highlight of the trip is however the excursion deep into the forest and atop a hill organized by team Chateau woods. The view and serenity of those spots is simply amazing. Only the staff know how to get you there and they do a brilliant job of it. Overall a nice stay in a beautiful place. Wish they could maintain their swimming pool in serviceable condition.
The best luxury resort ever been yet in Kerala. Wont even hear a single horn or noise. Great food (nice quantity) excellent staff too. Excellent view, the resort covered in a tea plantations and the hidden gem is the waterfall behind the resort. Far from Wayanad town
Had stayed at this beautiful tea estate bungalow during our family holiday in Wayanad. The settings are just picture perfect and the rooms come with all modern amenities and are very spacious for a small family. The activities choices are well planned based on your mood and the level of adventure. Loved the off road trip and the private water fall visit. The Food is planned with choices which are recommended during your stay, the cooks do dish out some exotic local Malabar/Kerala dishes. The small team are always there to help and are very attentive to the needs. Fishing in the pond and the pet farm are also part of the estate.
