Chowmahalla Palace or Chowmahallat Palace is a popular attraction of Hyderabad. Chowmahalla Palace is located nearby Charminar, at a distance of about 350 meters.

Chowmahalla Palace was the official seat of the Asaf Jahi Dynasty or the Nizams of Hyderabad state. The name ‘Chowmahallat’ comes from two Urdu words, Chow (four) and Mahallat (palaces). The ceremonial functions such as the accession of the Nizams, receptions for the Governor-General and other official guests and royal visitors, etc. were held at Chowmahalla Palace.

Chowmahalla Palace is a blend of many architectural styles and influences. Though the construction began in 1750, it was completed between 1857 and 1869. Chowmahalla Palace has two courtyards – northern courtyard and southern courtyard.

The Northern courtyard that consists of Bara Imam and Shishe-Alat has many Mughal domes and arches adorned with stucco ornamentation. The Southern courtyard, the oldest part of Chowmahalla Palace, consists of Afzal Mahal, Mahtab Mahal, Tahniyat Mahal and Aftab Mahal.

Khilwat Mubarak, the heart of Chowmahalla Palace, is the Durbar Hall where religious ceremonies and durbar were held. It has a pure marble platform on which the royal seat 'Takht-e-Nishan' is laid. Khilwat Mubarak is also famous for its 19 chandeliers made of Belgian crystal. The Chowmahalla Palace complex also consists of a 250-year old Clock Tower (Khilwat Clock), Council Hall and Roshan Bungalow.

Chowmahalla Palace, the symbol of royal and cultural heritage, was opened in 2005. Though built over 250 years ago, Chowmahalla Palace is well preserved and upholds its cultural significance and elegance even today.

A decently managed space.
The display is of good quality.
Campus could have been maintained much better.
Couple of spaces open but some of the palaces are locked and not open for public.
The historic information displayed is interesting and so is the car museum in the background.

"Palace of Nizam !!!"

In a close vicinity to charminar lies the beautiful palace of the Hyderabadi nizam - The Chowmahalla palace. The architecture here is so beautifully created that it will lure you even after your visit. What amazed me the most was the Rolls royce of the 19th century. The palace is a masterpiece. A must visit place. Just walk down from charminar ask anybody to guide you. The ticket price is Rs 50 and is worth it. You get a good canteen facility to chew in some snacks inside. Do not forget to take the camera ticket. There's a lot to capture.

Brilliant Beauty!!

Huge and Handsome Palace located in the heart of the city. 4 Palaces in one compound, so it's called Chowmahalla Palace, 100% paisa vasool place. But we have to walk a lot to enjoy the beauty of this wonderful Palace.

Architectural brilliance at it's best, INR 50/- entrance ticket and 50/- for camera is absolutely worth it. I took some pleasant photos and videos to cherish for my lifetime.

Must visit for all age groups when you are in Hyderabad. Please experience this experience for the experience sake. Please walk up to the end of the Palace where you can see classical old cars.

Chowmahalla is a delight to see, right after you see Charminar! The beautifully manicured gardens, intricately designed structures leave you spell-bound. I especially loved the firearms gallery and their vintage cars on show. Don't miss the silver patterned ornately designed Rolls-Royce for sure!

The exquisitely designed yellowish mansions of the Chowmahalla Palace complex are worthy attractions for history buffs. The four palaces, from which it got the name Chowmahalla form a vast complex. The palace is the former official residence of the Nizams of the erstwhile Hyderabad state. There is a collection of vintage cars, the vehicles used by the former Nizam. Though photography is allowed on payment, they didn't permit it some specific spots in the palace. The palace is closed on Fridays.

Lot of museums and well maintained palace. Nearby Charminar. Some is not for visitors. Check vintage cars display. Can be a boring place for people who don't like historical stuff.
