Cherrapunjee Holiday Resorts, Cherrapunjee
Everything was very good in the hotel. The food and drinks were available in the hotel was very good. The activities were arranged by the hotel. The room was neat and clean. All amenities were available in the room. The check in and checkout was on time. The behaviour of the staff's was friendly in the hotel. The hotel was located in the city. I would not suggest anything to this hotel.
My experience at this hotel was average. The hotel was conveniently located and it was easy to travel. The appearance of the hotel was not good. The staffs at the hotel were average in services. The room that was allotted to me was average with all the basic amenities in proper working condition. There was no delay during sign in and sign out procedure. The hotel was valuable for the money.
We happened stay for a night with family. The locality is amazing. If you planning to stay , you need to book at least for three nights. They have both standard and executive rooms. The executive rooms are costlier. But there is no much differences in terms of facilities. So better try to get standard room. You do not have any other option for food ,as the hotel is located in mid of the forest. But the food is good and you can opt for local food. Really worth to spend with family ...it is reachable only by private taxi and the they also have dormitory for driver ,as there is no other option for drivers in the forest. The hotel people will give you local map, with which you can roam around the untouched local villages
The hotel was good. The allotted room was good and clean in the hotel. I had booked this hotel directly. The complimentary breakfast was provided by the hotel. The food quality was good in the hotel. Activities were not arranged by the hotel. The destination of the hotel was good.

The food is the highlight of this hotel. We enjoyed all the dishes served and the staff were very good in service. A good hotel overall.
the cherra resort(in short) is a place to stay wherefrom you can identify the speciality of cherrapunjee. although it is located in a remote place at outscart of the town but you may locate the resort by roadside direction or from the restaurant namely "Orange" situated at cherrapunjee town. the ambiance of the hotel is superb. there will be no question about food and service. the resort is being operated by all ladies staffs, those are dedicated to serve the guest. as the hotel is situated in a remote place, you will be facilitated in several way like free internate, in house paying arrangement for kids, library etc. I myself , my wife and son of 10 years enjoyed the cherra resort immensely. you will get a picturesque of cherrapunjee from the courtyard of the resort. the resort will arrange for everything required for you to know the cherrapunjee including trekking to double living root bridge point which is unknown to common cherrapunjee visitors.
Even though Cherrapunjee holiday resort is not a luxury hotel but it will steal your heart with its simplicity and hospitality. This has a look of a family run hotel with very cordial and helpful staff. Though the rooms are very simple with basic amenities, we didn't bother as we were mostly out exploring the place or enjoying the beauty from the open lawn. The food is good and is cooked fresh. They organize live music in the evening which is so amazing. With Khasi boys singing in English, Hindi and Khasi language, this was just wow. All the guest joined for the show, clapped and danced with the crew. In the evening, one can take a walk around the resort and visit villages nearby. The cleanliness and warmness of people will make you fall in love with this place. Every house is so well built and has rainwater harvesting technologies. People are very simple and loving. I would recommend this hotel also for the journey from Cherrapunjee. Apparently this hotel is 18 km away from Cherrapunjee. The drive is simply out of the world. Our car was lost in the cloud and I was half outside the window of our taxi. The road is spotless the view is mesmerizing. We were really missing our car as we wanted to stop at every turn as the view was incredible.
I like to call this the guardian of the living root bridge. this is one of the best places to stay if you are looking for some walks, looking to sit out in the lawn and enjoy the beautiful sunset far across the plains of Bangladesh in the horizon over a cup of tea. rooms are good and very comfortable. family run, so has a very homely atmosphere. life music to encourage the local talents is always a treat. food is great, and service are on a personal level leaving one quite satisfied!
Excellent , Tranquil location amidst location amidst nature . Homely atmosphere . Extremely warm hospitality . Nice food . A lifetime experience . Bit expensive but worth it . One suggestion when you visit here , please make a plan for a couple of days to enjoy the serenity of the place . One should go for the double root bridge trekking ( which we didn't go for ) .
Beyond our expectations....haven\'t experienced such a personal touch since a long time. Homely yet highly efficient service with more than a handful of intellect. The family owning the hotel are your hosts...they make u feel more like their private guests. And oh boy!! if there is anything to be known about Cherrapunjee, Mr Rayan (our host) knows it and not only that, he is ever eager to share it with you. Going around the central lounge itself you gain lots of knowledge from the elaborately explained wall hangings. And the view from the lawn is just fantastic!! you can see the waterfalls as well as the plains of Bangladesh. Not to forget the lovely butterflies and a host of picture perfect insects you can see first hand as well as the lovely guitar band of the local Khasi boys who entertain yo in the evening with the rain peltering down the tin roof and gusts of clouds entering through the wide open doorway...just heavenly!!! Thanks Mr Rayan for the memorable experience.
Cherrapunjee Holiday Resort is a family run nature resort in Cherrapunjee, Meghalaya comprising of two abodes (one new, one old). It is surrounded by captivating hills with their amazing flora and fauna, gurgling waterfalls and streams, a quaint village, lovely church and friendly people and standing in front of it on a June morning watching clouds floating over hills and the countryside I understood why Meghalaya is called the abode of clouds! As the heavy non stop rains lashed the countryside in the evening and throughout the night I experienced what the wettest place on earth was like! But the next morning, the clouds cleared up, the surrounding countryside was lit by sunlight and we could see rainbows in places! I had the opportunity of interacting with the owner Dennis and his equally helpful and courteous son Joel both of whom made our holiday a success. We were two women travelling alone but never felt uncomfortable out here. Dennis and Joel helped us with valuable guidance to see the amazing living bridges. He also fixed up a car for us and our driving guide Buntei showed us the amazingly beautiful countryside of Cherrapunjee including the caves, waterfalls and views of Bangladesh! The centre of the resort building had a sprawling dining area decorated with local artefacts, and enough room to hold a music and dance programme by local artists in the evening. It also had a library, TV and computer with internet. Our room had a double bed, an extra bed on the side, an attached bathroom and an amazing view of the mountains through the windows. There was a small office next to it and the kitchen beyond. They offered a decent variety of both continental, Indian, and local Khasi food. The resort is very neat and clean and maintained by a team of mainly local ladies dressed in Khasi uniforms. They were pleasant and courteous and greeted us warmly with a glass of water whenever we came back from an outing. My advice to travellers would be to carry their rain gear, shoes, torches and dress in comfortable cotton clothes as it can get hot and sweaty during the day. Don't use your cell phone when you get strong Bangladesh signal as this may incur international roaming rates. Please do not litter the beautiful, clean countryside with rubbish and be tried not to destroy the topsoil! The resort is very quiet and peaceful and the right place to be in if one wants to see nature in all its glory!

The overall experience in this hotel was excellent. The management of the hotel was good. The hotel was far from the city so it was not so conveniently located. The bus stand and railway station was also very far from the hotel. The surrounding of the hotel was beautiful and natural. The interior and exterior of the hotel were very well-maintained. The service was excellent and the behaviour of the staffs was also very nice. The room allotted to me was very good. It was spacious, neat, clean and well-maintained. We had a beautiful view from the room. All the amenities like TV, AC and geyser was provided in the room. The washroom was also neat and clean. All the time cold and hot water facility were provided. We had food in the hotel and it was tasty and hygienic. They provided both Veg and Non-Veg food with many varieties. The price of the food was reasonable. We didn't face any issue while check in and checkout process. The hotel conducted many extra activities for tourists. We were happy and satisfied with the hotel and it was value for money. I would like to recommend this hotel to other travellers. My suggestion is that they should provide transportation facility. I went there with my family for relaxation purpose.
Mr. Denis Rayen, the owner of Cherrapunjee Holiday Resort, ensures that one starts living one’s vacation from the time one lands on his homepage…. and I am not exaggerating. Believe me…. there is a LOT of relevant information available ! Mr. Rayen himself is so accessible (mail/phone) that I felt I knew him personally even before I embarked on my journey. I did all my research, information gathering and bookings when I was not even in India ! The overall experience ?? I am sure to visit Cherrapunjee Holiday Resort again. ….and maybe again ….
